Review: Hurghada Private Seataxi to Pristine Magawish Island
Picture this, the blazing Egyptian sun kissing your skin, the gentle sea spray misting your face, and the turquoise waters of the Red Sea stretching out before you, that, it seems, might almost be paradise found. So, a trip to Magawish Island sounded like pure bliss, and honestly, it lived up to all my sun-drenched dreams. The usual crowded tourist boats? Not really my scene. Too it’s almost why I jumped at the chance to charter a private seataxi from Hurghada. Think of it as your personal water chariot to island serenity. But was it worth the extra cost? Was the reality as dreamy as the Instagram pictures suggested? Read on for the full scoop.
Booking Your Seataxi: What to Expect
Booking the seataxi was, actually, surprisingly straightforward. A few clicks online, a quick call to confirm the details, and just like your flight confirmation to a tropical destination, you’re basically set. Many operators are available, but, typically, it is always good to check reviews and compare prices. Most importantly make sure the company is fully insured and licensed. Communication was reasonably good; they confirmed the pickup time and location – usually from the main marina in Hurghada. The boats can accommodate different group sizes, so that, really, makes it quite convenient for families, groups of friends, or, heck, even just a solo traveler who is feeling a bit fancy. Expect to pay a little more than a shared boat trip, of course, the premium, though, gets you the peace of your own schedule and a much more intimate experience.
There’s some negotiating to be had, usually, but don’t expect crazy discounts. Still, it can, sometimes, pay to ask about extras included in the price – maybe snorkeling gear, refreshments, or even a stop at another nearby spot.
Setting Sail: The Experience
The excitement when you first climb aboard that seataxi, the sun gleaming, is that you’re about to have your own secluded slice of paradise for the day! The boats vary a bit, it seems, from smaller speedboats to larger, more comfortable vessels, depending on the operator and group size. Our boat, by the way, was a good size speedboat – roomy enough for our small group to spread out and soak up some rays. Now, let’s get moving! The ride over to Magawish Island is such fun, and a super pleasant experience on its own. So you go, the wind whips through your hair, and the waves playfully splash against the sides of the boat, just a taste of all you have to look forward to.
The captain, naturally, might, actually, point out interesting landmarks along the coast, maybe, share a little bit about the local marine life, which, incidentally, only enhanced the experience. The whole atmosphere really sets the tone for a relaxing, memorable day.
Magawish Island: A Slice of Paradise?
Magawish Island is, undoubtedly, a stunner. Seriously, think crystal-clear turquoise water, soft, white sandy beaches, and that laid-back island atmosphere we all dream of, it, that is, should be up your street if it all goes to plan. Some parts of the island can, admittedly, get a little crowded, depending on the time of year and how many tour boats are visiting. That’s because your private seataxi offers, though, that wonderful freedom to find your own little spot, just your little peaceful piece of heaven. Stroll along the beach, stretch out on a sun lounger, paddle in the shallow waters – do absolutely nothing other than unwind and breathe in that fresh sea air.
The snorkeling at Magawish is, also, generally fantastic, and really amazing, or that’s what you want to hear. The coral reefs teem with colourful fish, so you may glimpse some playful dolphins, so remember to bring your gear. Just think about gliding through the underwater kingdom. Some operators might even supply snorkeling equipment, so you could double-check when you book.
Food and Drink: Keeping Refreshed
Most seataxi trips, usually, don’t include food and drinks, although you may hear some do, so it’s super important to clarify this upfront. Some operators can, maybe, arrange for lunch on the island – perhaps a BBQ on the beach, for example – but it will come, obviously, at an additional cost. Now, packing your own picnic and drinks is the most affordable way to go, you just have to keep lugging things around, but, equally, it, apparently, gives you total control over what you eat and drink. There are, generally, a couple of small beach restaurants and cafes on Magawish Island where you could get snacks and refreshments. The food is alright, nothing to write home about. So that’s good. It can get pricey though, prices designed more for tourists. Very worth the trouble of taking your own food.
The Verdict: Is a Private Seataxi Worth It?
Right, the big question is that the splurge on a private seataxi is well worth it to Magawish Island? And honestly, in most situations, it may not seem like a big deal, or feel too bad, but it’s almost worth it in specific circumstances, such as when you want to just wind down. If you are wanting a crowded party boat environment, where there is music, food being cooked and lots of loud chatter, maybe this trip won’t be to your tastes, however, in general, this is what it’s all about.
For instance, if you value flexibility, intimacy, and avoiding the crowds, I will, seriously, go for it! The convenience of setting your own schedule, going in your own company to make memories with, and tailoring the day to suit your exact preferences made all the difference. The cost might be a little too much for some, but it does give such great peace of mind. And also a more calm way to enjoy what Magawish Island has to offer. So go on and treat yourselves, because, naturally, why not?
However, on the other hand, that money could be used to buy another flight out somewhere exotic if that’s more your style!
- The beaches: Beautiful white sand and beautiful azure waters
- Boat: Varies on which vendor you use, from super speedy and functional to luxurious and slower boats. Make sure you pick the right one for your needs.
- Price: You need to clarify, when booking, what is and what is not included, some options appear to give better value for money.
- Worth it? If a slower pace and quiet day on an island paradise is for you, absolutely yes. Otherwise maybe check out some party boats.
