Limassol Catamaran Cruise Review: Is It Worth It?

Thinking of taking a catamaran cruise out of Limassol? Maybe you are searching for a chill way to soak up the Cyprus sun, plus, you know, swim in the turquoise water? You are not alone. A day out on the Mediterranean, with food, drinks, and maybe some good people sounds, too it’s almost, like an appealing vacation move. I took the Limassol Catamaran Cruise with Lunch, and I’m, basically, here to tell you my thoughts, giving you some details so you can decide if it is that perfect experience for you.

Setting Sail: First Impressions

Setting Sail Catamaran

Alright, stepping onto the catamaran, you get hit with that, very specific, sea breeze smell, a combination of salt, a bit, of diesel, and the far-off promise of adventure. The boat, so it seems, looks reasonably well-maintained, plus, there’s plenty of space to stretch out on the deck. Now, finding a prime spot to drop your towel is the first, very important, mission. We were greeted by the crew, and they were quite cheerful, quick to offer a welcome drink which helps, just a little, when setting the vacation mood. I think first impressions, as always, make, literally, a huge difference, and this wasn’t too bad.

Cruising Along the Coast

Cyprus Coastline

Setting off, you, know, you start to get that lovely view of the Limassol coastline. It’s all there from modern buildings to, sort of, rocky cliffs that disappear, really, into the crystal blue water. We cruised eastwards, so it seems, passing beaches. It really does give you a different perspective, actually, seeing everything from the sea. The sun felt great. We slowly made our way down the coast and towards our first swim spot.

Diving into the Mediterranean: Swimming and Snorkeling

Swimming Mediterranean Sea

One of the high points of the cruise might be, potentially, the swim stops. The boat anchors in spots, typically, where the water is super clear, perfect for swimming or, for instance, snorkeling. The first stop involved some time to splash and relax. The water temperature? A bit, chilly to start, yet, once you are moving, really, it’s super refreshing. I’d, obviously, suggest bringing your own snorkel gear. They did provide some on board, but like your never too sure about shared snorkels! Some people were enjoying floating, but also enjoying going down to the seafloor to try to see a fish or two. This was a big draw for people on board.

Lunch on Deck: What’s Cooking?

Lunch on Deck

So, lunchtime rolled around, too it’s almost, like the aroma of grilled meats started wafting from the galley. The lunch? It’s served buffet-style, similarly to, lots of these types of cruises. The spread included grilled chicken and pork, a Greek salad, some roasted potatoes, plus, you know, bread. It was decent. Not, for instance, fancy, yet tasty enough after a swim in the sea. They have some vegan options but, in some respects, check when booking to confirm they can meet, just, your needs. Drinks are, like your typically free flowing during lunch (local wine, juice and water), which does, literally, make things feel more festive. A top-notch chef this person was not but did deliver on expectation. I enjoyed my grilled pork and salad.

The Crew and Onboard Atmosphere

Catamaran Crew

The crew, just, really made a difference to the whole experience. They worked hard to make sure everyone on board was comfy, always, with smiles and ready to help. The music playlist on board contributed, really, to a chill atmosphere, lots of summer tunes. Most passengers seemed like your were families, couples, and groups, yet, it might be suitable if you were tooling around on your own. I thought there were nice little touches, arguably, such as when they brought around some fresh fruit later on. I will happily applaud these people, such nice service.

Value for Money: Is It Worth the Cost?

Limassol Cruise Price

Considering the cost of the cruise, along with what you get (a half-day boat trip, lunch, drinks), I think it provides fair value. You’re mostly paying for the experience of being out on the water. As I was saying, it is ideal if you would like something not too active, but not sitting, too it’s almost, still, in a deckchair. So it seems, the opportunity to swim, the lunch, and, in general, the ambiance made the expenditure justifiable, you see, so far. I was happy when leaving the catamaran. I feel, just a little, relaxed.

Potential Downsides

Crowded Cruise

Alright, no experience is perfect. The boat could get a little crowded. Obviously, it relies on numbers for the trips to run. Now, it means securing a comfortable spot can be, kind of, difficult if you are not among the first on board. Also, as a matter of fact, the snorkeling gear, arguably, might be a bit worn, therefore, it might be better bringing your own if possible. If you expect super high cuisine, honestly, the lunch, too it’s almost, isn’t Michelin-star quality. In contrast to, many holidays this was not stressful or frustrating. No waiting or lines for hours. Very punctual to get moving to.

Final Verdict: A Relaxing Day on the Water

Relaxing Day Cruise

The Limassol Catamaran Cruise, as a matter of fact, with Lunch offers a very chill and enjoyable way to spend a day in Cyprus. So it seems, the cruising, swimming, food, plus the general atmosphere combine to, in general, create a wonderful experience. So it seems, some small improvements could make it even more, basically, appealing. For instance, not packing in as many people. In fact, should you wish, sort of, a relaxing day out on the water, you understand, I certainly would endorse this cruise.
