Sail See Tour Review: Is This Private Sailing Trip Worth It?

Looking at splashing out on something a little extra for your vacation? Maybe something like a private sailing trip? If that’s a ‘yes,’ then a tour from a company like Sail See might just be what you need. You see, I recently took a ‘Sail See Private Sailing Tour with Swimming Sightseeing,’ and I thought I’d share the ins and outs of the experience, with thoughts to help you see if it’s right for you. This review is based on, like, my personal experience and aims to give you a genuine picture of what the trip has to offer.

Setting Sail: First Impressions

Setting Sail

From the get-go, you can tell that Sail See aims to create a feeling that’s personal and refined. The booking bit was easy enough, and the crew that contacted me about the details, was, that, helpful and friendly. Arriving at the marina, there’s that feeling in the air – salty breeze, masts clinking, it’s like something from a movie! The boat itself looked nice, obviously clean and pretty well kept. A very good beginning, which is pretty crucial for setting the tone for the day. After all.

The Boat and the Crew: Aboard for Adventure

The boat wasn’t huge, it was probably better suited to small groups—say around six people max, that sort of thing. Yet, there’s, actually, plenty of space to move around. It’s almost as if soaking up the sun or chilling in the shaded area is something they encourage you to do. As I was saying, the boat also had the necessities: a toilet, changing area, and even a fridge for keeping drinks cool. Always a plus!

And yet, the crew—these people really made the trip special. They’re, just a little, clearly experienced sailors. Even so they also doubled as easy-going hosts. They knew their stuff about the local spots, so too they had stories that they shared and they seemed to know when to give you a little space to simply take it all in. Their warmness really does add something special to the experience. That much is clear, as a matter of fact!

Swimming and Sightseeing: Discovering Hidden Gems

Swimming Sightseeing

So, the tour itself involved, maybe, a mix of sailing to wonderful spots. They’d then drop anchor so you can take a dip. The water was, just, unbelievably clear, and, wow, was it wonderfully refreshing! It was actually way too easy to spend hours floating about. Just gazing back at the coast.

The crew would, typically, point out interesting sights along the way, sharing a little about the history or some local tales, and stuff like that. We stopped at a handful of secluded beaches and, well, small caves that you would, otherwise, miss completely. That did, truly, give the day a sense that was adventurous and also kind of exclusive.

Food and Drink: Tasty Treats on the Sea

Lunch was provided as part of the tour and, seemingly, it was very delicious! They served up something simple and yummy, like fresh sandwiches, salads, or some local cheese and prosciutto, things in that fashion, you know? Plus, there’s free-flowing soft drinks and water on board. The crew even offered to crack open a bottle of wine or beer. What, now, could be better than sipping a cold drink on the sea? You get me.

The Nitty-Gritty: What Does It All Cost?

the cost of tour

Okay, so, let’s talk prices. This ‘Sail See Private Sailing Tour’ is more of an investment than, maybe, your average day trip, so, like, I guess it isn’t lost on me that the price changes a lot based on the season, how big your group is, and what you specifically want to do. To give you some kind of ballpark number, a private tour for a small group of four to six might cost somewhere in the neighborhood of, let’s just say, €600 to €1200. It’s actually very important to check the latest prices right with Sail See, as well, as that way you are very certain about what’s covered.

Is It Worth It? Deciding If You Should Book

Worth It

After all that, the big question—is this tour actually worth your cash? When you are talking of the tour itself, well, I am, as a matter of fact, of the opinion that it’s, maybe, worth it, specifically if you appreciate a more individual, intimate travel experience. If you are down with escaping the typical crowded tourist spots and doing your vacation on something a little calmer, while doing so in style, then yes, you might just enjoy it. It really worked very well for us, because we wanted a more deluxe day out. The freedom to choose your own schedule, added to what felt like really personable care coming from the crew, made the price reasonable to us.

Then again, if you’re more that type of person who is all about budget-based travel, or who really loves being part of a big crowd, maybe a private sailing tour, in that fashion, is not that appealing to you. It really boils down to what is best for you and your vacation preferences!

Making the Most of Your Tour: Tips and Recommendations

Tips Recommendations

To totally get your money’s worth on your ‘Sail See’ sailing tour, then it’s really key that you do a little preparation. Okay?

  • Sun Protection Is Important: Sunscreen, hats, and shades! The sea sun can be intense, it is almost as if your skin will love you for it!
  • Swim Gear: If you’re serious about making use of all the swimming stops, remember your swimsuit, and towel. That much should go without saying.
  • Cameras and Gadgets: To capture your travels, do bring your camera or phone—just make sure it’s protected from any splash damage! Just like with skin.
  • Comfy Clothing: Light, breathable outfits really make any day that much nicer on a boat.
  • Talk with the Crew: They have loads of local knowledge, really use them! Asking about those hidden gems might make your trip memorable.

With that level of preparedness you really get every penny’s worth. This day isn’t simply a ‘tour,’ more like building of really amazing experiences.

Happy sailing!
