Zanzibar Tour: The Rock, Cave & Stone Town Review

Zanzibar, you see, it’s almost synonymous with picture-postcard beaches and that wonderfully laid-back island vibe, yet there is rather so much more to it than just sun and sand. It’s got like this really interesting history, there is such a vibrant culture, and seriously stunning scenery kind of just waiting to be explored. Now, I had a chance, so, too it’s a lucky one, to do the “Zanzibar Rock, Cave, and Stone Town Tour,” and let me tell you, this is really so very that it’s one experience that just kind of covers a pretty solid range of what this pretty island offers. From eating at an internationally-renowned restaurant that’s perched right on a rock in the ocean to then getting wonderfully lost in the twisty alleyways of an old city, this trip certainly had it all, almost.

The Iconic Rock Restaurant Experience

The Rock Restaurant? Right, so very arguably, it’s really the first stop on this adventure and quite possibly, maybe even likely the most immediately Instagrammable. It’s a restaurant that’s really actually situated on a rock formation, just off the shore from Michamvi Pingwe beach. Getting there kind of just depends on the tide, which can, admittedly, be rather interesting; when the tide is low, you might be able to, instead, simply just wade over, and at high tide, a little boat is there at the ready in order to ferry you across. I thought this added, in a way, to the charm. Anyway, the views are pretty just completely mind-blowing. You’re totally just surrounded by the clear, turquoise water, and you have this pretty uninterrupted view of the Zanzibar coastline, you know? The restaurant itself? Well, it’s more or less pretty small and certainly cozy, and that means it’s definitely that you will want to try to book well in advance if that you wanna snag a spot. The menu is focused quite primarily on fresh seafood (I mean, clearly), with a little bit of an Italian twist. I actually really thought the seafood was pretty fresh and that everything was prepared very well, if I’m being totally honest; the prices? They are a little higher when you compare them to what you find in other local spots, you see, that is that you’re definitely also paying for the unique location, and, arguably, might be even very likely for the ‘gram too.

Tips to probably like make the most of this experience? Right, I could tell you: Like seriously Bring your swimming costume, okay?
