Valencia Bike Tour Review: Morning Highlights Explored
Valencia, it’s almost like this bright jewel on the Spanish coast, just asks to be discovered at a relaxed pace. What better way, you know, than hopping on a bike for a morning spin? So, I tried out the “Wake Up with Valencia” morning bike tour to catch some of the key spots, and I figured I’d pass along, just to let you know, what the experience was truly like.
Setting off into the Sunrise
Meeting up for the tour was, well, super simple, so no worries there. The starting point was easy to find, and there were a bunch of bikes ready to go. Right away, it’s apparent the bikes were in good shape, that too it’s good when you consider, with comfy seats. Getting set up was actually quick, so really it wasn’t long before we were pedaling into the Valencia morning.
As a matter of fact, the early start, really it did mean the city felt incredibly peaceful. That golden sunrise really casts a glow on everything. The tour group, really, it wasn’t too huge, and it’s cool because it made moving through the streets really quite manageable and that’s coming from a person who hates getting stuck behind big groups of people. The guide, so he was this local dude, you see, that was, like, bursting with cool information. And stories? This dude really had them for everything we saw.
Gliding Through City Icons
Okay, so first off, the Turia Gardens. Oh my gosh, what a gorgeous green stretch running through the city. Believe it or not, it is a dried-up riverbed, though. It just felt that we were just, like, coasting through it on the bikes. I’d say there’s lush scenery all around. Plus, it is quite safe, being separated from the normal streets. We then rode to the City of Arts and Sciences. It is, in short, very ‘out there’. Those sleek structures, that too are futuristic looking, and they make quite a statement. Our guide just explained, just to let you know, about the buildings, their design, and also a bit about what each one hosts. I mean, you’ve just got to get some photos there; they just really are iconic!
The old town was another spot we explored, where so much history lives, almost literally. Pedaling on the smaller streets. So we really get close to so many great buildings. The guide explained a lot about the Valencia Cathedral, sharing some interesting bits about the history that is really all packed into that space. And we saw the Central Market too, by the way, it’s just an explosion of stuff! The smells and sounds of vendors and of local stuff is an overload on the senses. I thought it was a cool place to understand, more or less, the real Valencia vibe.
What’s Good and Not so Good
Alright, the positives, you know: This tour just lets you see much in a brief time without a lot of foot fatigue. Having a guide is totally great because so many neat facts and places come alive compared to a, say, solo exploration. And, I think pedaling in the morning? Definitely the best idea. It’s quite refreshing.
Some possible downsides? Just maybe, that if you can’t ride a bike that well, that the tour could feel that is quite intimidating. So the tour is also at a set speed. I am quite an enthusiast of stopping every other minute to grab shots; however, in some cases, you really do have to hold back.
Would I Say ‘Go For It?’
You know, really if you would want to grab some main sights around Valencia, but not lose heaps of time doing so, then yes! In fact, I really think you should go for it. This “Wake Up with Valencia” bike tour is great. The price is very fair for the insight and distance you traverse. Do you enjoy a casual bike ride and an opportunity to learn, by the way? This tour would probably be an ace choice.
