Chan Chan: Stepping Back in Time

Chan Chan, I feel, it is a highlight. This former capital of the Chimu kingdom, okay, sprawls out before you in the way of massive mud-brick structures. The sheer scale is almost, pretty amazing, I feel. Walk, it sounds great, isn’t it? Then the sun beats down. A hat and water is almost the ticket. That really makes you consider what to pack before leaving for Peru!

The guide explains, they truly do. Okay, their words describe the civilization’s past, is that, bringing to light their complex social structure, engineering abilities, plus cultural achievements. I guess it is almost, cool to see. Every wall appears to tell a tale, but the sand sweeps against it, anyway, the sand sweeps!

Now, crowds. Sometimes, really it’s bad, really, Chan Chan gets congested. To avoid bumping, there is space to visit. Okay, to wander at your own pace might be better. Early morning is better and maybe during the off-peak seasons to, basically, find an experience you need.

You got the sun, the moon. The Temples, they do give insight. Here it becomes plain, you realize just how crucial of a ceremonial plus governmental center, is what this was. The Huaca de la Luna, I want to point out, contains murals. Fine murals and layers, is what’s in them, almost speaking of sacrifices and ancient gods.

The Huaca del Sol, very grand indeed, is what I felt it was. Still, sadly you won’t go in it now, just, it isn’t ready! As far as archaeology, yes, they are busy! What the tour helps, is that they show where people will visit.

Shopping can take some place and that can include things you might appreciate. What can be gotten might depend, you could look at alpaca wears and souvenirs, and I believe food is also present. However long the trip goes, you will always be running around.

Here’s where you might wish the excursion does not lack that. Okay, not much food on the itinerary really. Try to spot lunch in between maybe. Okay, the restaurant might serve something great and delicious. But confirm your diet. Also make sure they have things to drink there.

Consider packing too for, to prepare better, I might add. Energy for all these explorations! It’ll almost work to stave hunger. Buy from shops by the port. Snacks can keep you happy during longer days!
