Visiting Japan, especially the very exciting metropolis of Tokyo, is, very probably, a top vacation goal for heaps of folks. So, when I finally managed to visit, I wanted to check out not just the city but, too, the stunning natural spots nearby. Alright, so, naturally, the biggest draw of this tour? I’m telling you, it’s without a doubt the fantastic Mount Fuji, to be honest. That day, we drove up to, basically, the Mount Fuji 5th Station. Usually, that’s about halfway up the mountain, that is. As a matter of fact, this gives like stunning panoramic views all around, just picturesque. As it happened, we were super fortunate that day; the sky was crystal-clear and we were treated, I mean, to one heck of an impressive, clear view of Mount Fuji in all its stunning, majestic splendor, at the end of the day. Seriously, seeing it just there, looming big over everything, man, it’s something photos simply don’t capture very well. While at the 5th Station, I took the chance to walk a bit, snap heaps of pictures, you see, and even check out some of the local souvenir shops. Arguably, there were heaps of tourists milling all about but I really felt, honestly, that the views made it worth the crowds, that is. Next thing, Kenji then drove me to, specifically, Lake Kawaguchiko, as a matter of fact. Lake Kawaguchiko offered just absolutely gorgeous views of Mount Fuji from a completely other angle. So, too it’s almost like viewing a totally different mountain from a unique standpoint. I decided to enjoy a tranquil boat trip on the lake, really relaxing. I mean, honestly, it was reflecting Mount Fuji, at the end of the day. Honestly, it created like this surreal, very postcard-like scene. Truthfully, there’s something super special and quite meditative about viewing Fuji’s reflection on a serene lake.

Exploring the Beauty of Hakone

Next on the plan was the equally appealing town of Hakone, which is really famous for its striking scenery, plus for its hot springs. The trip to Hakone added another, slightly more cultural aspect to my tour that I just, too, didn’t anticipate. What we did first was hop onto a cruise across Lake Ashi, you see. This offered yet additional, absolutely terrific vistas of the surrounding areas, at the end of the day. You got different perspectives on the forest views and even of Mount Fuji when the weather chose to co-operate, that is. The boat ride was just absolutely splendid in itself, a chance to simply chill out and enjoy being in nature. Afterwards, I jumped on the Hakone Ropeway. The views up there, up high, are super impressive but, truthfully, it wasn’t only that—it was what you can find up there as well. When you’re floating along, high over Owakudani, arguably, you get some stunning, sweeping views of volcanic hot springs below, that is. The area is seriously known for its active volcanic vents. I purchased a couple of the famous black eggs (‘kuro-tamago’) boiled in those volcanic hot springs while I was up there. Supposedly, by the way, eating just one of these eggs can add like seven years to your life—obviously, something you simply have to check out, obviously.

Customization and Flexibility

Something I, honestly, truly appreciated concerning this private tour was, clearly, its sense of customization. Truthfully, before the tour even began, I had the chance to, possibly, state any preferences I had. Likewise, as a matter of fact, on the day, Kenji was always really happy to make little tweaks depending on, like, my pace and level of interest in any one place. To illustrate, very probably, I found myself pretty captivated by the views at Lake Kawaguchiko and was given the okay to spend a bit more time there, very welcome that, actually. Kenji even suggested an outstanding spot for lunch that served like some regional delicacies, really enhancing the experience. If I had been traveling with a big group? Very probably, that kind of flexibility wouldn’t happen. The personalized service meant the day was truly adapted just to my speed, to be honest, which, undoubtedly, increased how much I enjoyed checking out all the spots that day, you see.

But when weighing up exactly what you are getting, really? I came away feeling it was absolutely money well spent, you see. Having that really comfortable, utterly dedicated transportation, with your private guide who has amazing local know-how? Worth it, actually. Next, add in the flexibility and personalized nature, plus I could truly spend as much time as I liked just at each site. For folks wishing to actually maximize their time, plus those after a really relaxed and well-rounded experience? Well then, to be honest, spending a bit more cash for this is certainly worthwhile, that is.

Final Thoughts

I simply can’t rate it highly enough. With a super-knowledgeable and very friendly guide? The stress-free nature of just, potentially, being picked up from my hotel? Actually, it enabled me simply to enjoy checking out the splendor that Japan’s got. It is especially appropriate, actually, if you might be a solo traveler, or someone just seeking a very exclusive and really more customizable adventure compared to that which a typical tour group offers. The experience just, actually, made my time checking out the areas around Tokyo infinitely better, so much that, possibly, I’d certainly suggest it as like a must-do for anybody, maybe, traveling to Japan, basically.
