Santorini Sunset Cruise: Honest Review (Food, Drinks & More!)

Picture this, right? You’re visiting Santorini, probably one of the most famous islands anywhere, very, very known for those sunsets, and very, very picturesque. Now, that being said, everybody will tell you that the single most magical thing you might do in Santorini is viewing the sunset, that’s for sure. This naturally leads to the next thought: watching that sunset from a boat, maybe with yummy local eats and drinks. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? This is, very, very arguably, one of the most favored things for visitors to do, almost the most iconic thing, is to experience that iconic sunset while seeing all that the cruise has to show. My family and I bit the bullet and booked a sunset sailing cruise, food and beverages were part of it as well as transportation to and from our hotel. This is my truthful experience with all of it, to actually help you determine if it is worth spending your time and money on. So, actually buckle up, and perhaps bring some sunscreen; it could be that you’ll feel as though you are coming along with us on this journey as we cruise through this scenic experience.

Booking and Transfers: Making it Easy

Santorini Hotel Transfer

Booking the cruise was easy. I mean, very easy, right? It was all done online, really without a problem, and several different companies give pretty similar tours. So, right, what truly got me to make up my mind was the particular inclusions – what type of food they will offer, if endless beverages were on the menu (yep, basically open bar! This made it really worthwhile) , and very, very, notably the user reviews. One less thing to be worried about on my trip was arranging transportation, a great service which they offered. They told me they would pick us up straight from our hotel and bring us back at the close of the cruise. This is so worth it as Santorini’s roads tend to be quite twisty and, very, very probably full of other vacationers at that! So, it’s all part of the package. The pick-up was very much on time, and the driver acted really nicely, as well as chatty. We found ourselves at the port without trouble at all, to boot.

The Boat and the Crew: Setting Sail

Santorini Sailing Boat

The boat we had, really looked great, quite modern and pretty spacious. Basically, there was more than ample room for everyone to chill, without feeling stuffed together just like sardines. There really were cozy places to settle at and lie down under the sun, in addition to places which were protected from the sun, when you so desired to escape it for just a little bit. The team, that actually being the crew, was great. You know, basically they were, basically, helpful, and cheerful. Always checking up on people, basically handing over drinks, really keen to discuss the various places as we sailed. I love it when there’s someone onboard who is happy and willing to point at the scenic sites, and offer a little historical information about them. It really did add such an amazing additional value. What’s better than learning and relaxing? Basically, doing it both at the same time!

Food and Drinks: A Taste of Greece

Santorini Cruise Food

So, perhaps for me personally, the real decider when picking a tour is the food – I have to know what I’ll be consuming, you understand? Thankfully, they did not disappoint. Right, they gave us an amazing selection of Greek favorites. So, actually things like some fresh tzatziki with warm pita bread, also tomato balls (or, basically, tomato keftedes), a wonderful Greek salad with olives, as well as dolmades (rice-filled grape leaves). Also, of course there was souvlaki, really delicious grilled meat on a stick! And, like your local taverna, of course they loaded you with olives! I just might have consumed too many olives. Oh well! This was pretty much a terrific glance into Greek cooking. I mean, actually it felt like having a complete meal whilst getting to marvel at Santorini from its coasts. The drinks were endless, just for me! Water, sodas, local beers, plus, if you wanted it, you might actually drink the house local. It was good that there was basically all kinds of things available to keep people cool and also happy throughout our cruise.

The Sailing Route and Swimming Stops: Exploring the Caldera

Santorini Caldera View

Ok, now so here’s a hint: if it’s warm when you visit, make sure to go prepared for water time! The cruise made several stops off for a dip in certain marvelous sites of the caldera. One stop was the famed volcanic hot springs – don’t forget that the waters will be hot here! I did want to tell you, take a thing you won’t worry about staining, as the sulfur will turn your swimming gear a different color. Basically the other pause was at a serene bay where we did go swimming in basically crystal-clear waters. My little ones definitely had fun during the swimming segments! I have to share that there was gear available for snorkeling for anybody that might choose to enjoy getting to view the underwater marine life, which makes this feature extra impressive, too it’s almost like something out of a film, isn’t it? Along our sail, we basically floated near well-known locations, very, very like the Indian Rocks, the Venetian Lighthouse, and all those tiny small settlements sitting just atop of the cliffs. You are getting awesome photo opportunities everywhere that you can only get from out on the water, you understand?

The Sunset: A Magical Finale

Santorini Sunset

As the sun approached the place that it sets, everyone onboard really began anticipating it together. The team turned on quiet songs, produced additional drinks. So, too it’s almost just perfect conditions being set to delight the impending sunset. And the experience did not disappoint one bit. Viewing the sunlight sink just away beyond the caldera waters, spilling the hues just everywhere across the sky, feels truly mesmerizing to witness. Everybody actually became extremely peaceful, getting that same remarkable sight as the quiet moment continued, it seems so perfect in every single way, and for every reason possible. Truthfully, that’s really the pinnacle of what a Santorini sunset cruise must present. All the rest becomes only some additions.

Was It Worth It? My Final Verdict

Alright, so at the close of the day, was this trip financially worthwhile? I think, yes, certainly! So, actually you do receive much for the costs you pay. Right, there is convenient transportation. There’s the food that really allows you a sampling adventure across various Greek culinary choices. You might actually indulge freely across beverages. Then there is snorkeling as well as swimming opportunities, coupled alongside remarkable scenery that actually make for spectacular images. Truthfully, all things said, the main value sits inside getting those wonderful views from the world-known sunset together. You are never just merely simply getting a cruise. This, in particular, proves to be a priceless experience for any who wishes seeing what is gorgeous and remarkable about what Santorini gives to others. If you would choose spending less when traveling this part of the world, then basically maybe missing those costs and actually going from a hotel in Santorini, then of course feel totally free to just do that, you understand? I had to weigh everything personally before being ready to go along to start the cruise.
