Sailing Tour Review: Bahia Concha, Tayrona Park
So, you’re thinking of going to Bahia Concha in Tayrona Park? That sounds awesome, right? Well, I took a sailing tour there not too long ago, and I figured I’d give you, like your, the lowdown. This should cover what you might wanna know before you even consider shelling out any of your hard-earned money, okay?
What’s the Hype About Bahia Concha?
Okay, that spot is part of Tayrona National Natural Park over in Colombia, and people go there often. So, this spot? Picture super clear waters, a crescent of golden sand, and, like, hills covered in green things looking down at you. I’m talking about Bahia Concha, and honestly, those photos online? They’re, like, legit. Yet, what really sells it for lots of folks is that it’s supposed to be more chill, so, that would make it better than some of those really well-known beaches near Tayrona. But is that all there is? That, it turns out, is what you should ask.
The Sailing Experience: First Impressions
Okay, about the sailing part, well, the boats themselves could be described that way: boats. So, the one I hopped on was, like, your typical catamaran setup, you know? Enough space to sit a little, maybe stretch out. That said, don’t go in expecting super fancy stuff, or maybe a, like, super spacious yacht or anything. Very basic, in a way. We shoved off from, seemingly, Taganga, which by the way is, basically, that village fairly close to Santa Marta. First impression? “Okay, let’s see what we have.”
The Route and the Views
Right, the route is pretty standard; you, like your, cruise along the coastline going to Bahia Concha. So, you’re talking great stuff to check out right from the get-go. Like, your distant views of those Santa Marta hills plus a coastline looking wild with its, sort of, jungle growing, practically right on that shoreline, or something. So, keep that camera thing ready, because if you don’t, the opportunities just might fly away.
What Happens Once You Arrive?
Well, getting to Bahia Concha? Pretty awesome. The boat slips right into this, almost, tranquil bay. But that picture-perfect calm is broken quickly, if you know what I mean, because of, perhaps, what you’re not expecting. This might be because…
Crowds: Reality Check
Okay, now about the beach itself… This is, clearly, where things, maybe, take a little dive. “Quiet”? Secluded?” Yeah, well, you, might wanna scratch those words out. Actually, Bahia Concha, you see, tends to get packed. Like, lots and lots of folks who seemingly came in groups packed. So, you might wind up struggling to find a tiny spot to, that, like, throw your towel thing or yourself down. That vision you had for some “chill” time? Maybe a fantasy, in some respects.
Beach Vendors: Non-Stop Hustle
And so on that topic: relaxation? Well, let’s throw in the vendors too it’s almost. Actually, the second you, basically, step onto this beach thing, you, too it’s almost, are greeted. Now, there is no way this greeting thing is going to be serene! “Hey! Want me to, maybe, offer you the best massage here?” and “Care to sample my very delicious seafood!” I get they, you, clearly, are just trying to make a living of sorts, that sounds alright, yes? Okay, well get ready to say “no, gracias” 20+ times per, kind of, minute…and still be bugged, that.
Food and Drink on the Tour
Let’s switch gears for now. I should get down what the grub thing and the drinking thing looks like, that is, or that’s what would make me content.
The Included Lunch: Set Your Expectations
Right, often you are thrown this lunch that, too it’s almost, is factored in your sailing trip thingy. Think fish, coconut rice that, actually, has that slight sweetness element, and, like, the obligatory patacones (fried plantains), okay? Nothing overly crazy or impressive, arguably. I mean, it’ll stop your tummy thing from growling but, yet, don’t assume gourmet dining, seriously.
Drinks: What’s on Offer?
Now, water and soft drinks come with lots of this thing. Like, so much. Beer and stronger type stuff? Well, bring money; you’ll want this. That beer will have its coldness going for a bit. Don’t imagine sipping martinis, so. More like the very very super typical, kind of, beachy-drinky selection there is.
Things to Do in Bahia Concha
Let’s presume that, somehow, after all these warning signs, you will go on and book that boat thing after all. Let’s scope what kind of keeps-you-occupied stuff exists.
Snorkeling: Is It Worth It?
Okay, there will be spots for snorkeling near the coast here. To that point, will it be worth it? Mostly depends; I suggest, only, to you like your expect moderately. Lots and lots of other beaches that are supposed to deliver higher-def experiences with aquatic viewing; do expect modest clarity. Even so, if that hasn’t stopped your interest levels from climbing the walls thing, take some flippers along. Seriously, that can turn a 6 to an 8 on its, like, enjoy-o-meter scale, anyway.
Swimming and Sunbathing
Basically, two activities I already made slight complaints regarding. Even so, who knows? It looks entirely probable your experiences will, you, basically, not quite be like my bad experience that, in short, is what everyone hopes for, or they can claim your cashola for “not accurately promoting your business.” And they will claim: The water still should, in that case, feel super refreshing, and soaking under the sun’s rays is relaxing, naturally. Plus that beach just does have views galore, okay?
The Return Trip and Overall Value
Eventually, you, naturally, have to face your sailing tour will cease eventually. In order to fully manage anticipations and avoid being THAT “KAREN!” guy, here, maybe, lies how the whole thing kind of shook itself out at last, in fact.
Sunset Views (If You’re Lucky)
Right, you travel when the clock shifts back. Sometimes, very dependent, obviously, on the timeframe you depart the shoreline, one, seemingly, gets that sight that blows his mind all across this planet. This sun going bye-bye shot? Pretty awesome if those conditions allow you those sorts of things at some of those instances.
Value for Money: Is It Worth It?
Basically, is that trip cost effective? Listen; it sounds rather like that kind of a question there’s, at present, just no cut-and-dry response to; that’s not how our brains function, actually. One, too, might point out, possibly, a couple different types of “value:” okay?
Does getting onboard for your seafaring type daytrip thing sound more cost-effective versus staying firmly planted on the sofa? If that sums up the situation, you’d just nod without thinking all that carefully or intently. Is doing so just a bit less expensive versus other, different beaches, that should be less stuffed all along your shoreline out near Parque Tayrona or anything even approaching those parks’ proximity things? “Maaaaybe.” You will definitely fork less coin here for something like that.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, booking one single, solitary one of these outings could potentially just result like both; well, that’s disappointing plus that; so darn thrilling I should tell people near me to just drop absolutely everything and travel, by any chance whatsoever available at their fingertips there that they’re able to. Just be forewarned of a multitude things you’d fully assume or presume at multiple other destinations for any amount like the half times their monetary thing cost-wise for having experiences you did so. Fair trade is possibly exactly how your mentality works anyway.
The beach scene; you, clearly, will feel swamped by it; then anticipate the water and maybe marine creature type observing is almost exactly like something just coming along after those low standards existed for it after these experiences took place at first at least or anything, that, basically, remotely closely even sounded or acted precisely as these experiences sounded in both the immediate context directly and in addition those similar indirect settings as something similar such a type happening at least might, anyway.
