The drive gave some stunning views, particularly as you get closer to the lake, but that could be pretty stressful if you are really not too confident driving. I will probably propose allowing, say, at least an hour to get there from Rome, just to make sure that you aren’t late and can then just chill out before the ride. That, by the way, might just be wise to have in mind if you might be coming from the town!
Meeting the Horses and the Guides
When I finally reached the stables, I was actually greeted by the tour guides. They were, like, very welcoming and seemed experienced. There was a little bit of a language barrier, specifically because my Italian is practically non-existent, however we, in some respects, managed to get by with some broken English and lots of gesturing. However, the guide made sure that everyone was alright and comfortable. So, too, overall, it absolutely was an unforgettable experience. If you get me!
What Could Be Improved
Okay, no experience is, like, perfectly perfect, is it? One thing that could certainly have been improved was actually the clarity of communication. It would just be very useful to have guides that were, like, fluent in English, or some translated materials that, you know, describe some information about the area. Moreover, while the horses appeared pretty gentle, a bit of a more detailed introduction to horseback riding could arguably just have been beneficial for first-timers. Furthermore, I, personally, believe that a small bottle of water should possibly be a mandatory consideration from the part of the company to the people as you may get thirsty.
Is It Worth It? My Final Verdict
So, too, is the Rome Lake Martignano Horseback Ride worth it? Basically, I think so, absolutely! The beautiful scenery and the feeling of actually connecting with nature absolutely outweigh the couple of minor inconveniences. In case you’re searching for a little bit of an adventure that’s actually outside the typical Roman tourist trails, this might just be a great option. Just make sure that you take travel into account, come prepared for, you know, a language barrier, and, furthermore, prepare to potentially have a fantastic time! Similarly to that!
