Review: Your 2-Day Whirlwind Wildlife Trip to Tsavo East and West
Thinking about a quick getaway to Tsavo East and West National Parks? Like, if you only have a couple of days, these places offer an absolutely amazing taste of what a Kenyan wildlife trip is all about. So, I took a recent 2-day jaunt there, and I am here to share all the absolutely juicy bits about my trip. Get ready for some elephants, stunning scenery, and that amazing African bush vibe! It’s, you know, pretty awesome.
What You Can Expect On Your First Day: Tsavo East’s Open Plains
The first day, wow, like, that’s dedicated to Tsavo East. Tsavo East is, after all, quite famous for its super wide-open plains, and also the absolute chance to really spot some massive herds of elephants covered in, that, red dust. It is, anyway, like, pretty awesome, to be honest! Seriously! You could just drive for, say, hours and see so much game. Very nice!
I began, actually, my safari really early in the morning, and I suggest you do the same; the light is basically incredible for pictures, so too the wildlife tends to be very much more active when it is, say, cooler. You’ll most likely pass by the Aruba Dam, which tends to be really a popular watering spot for a wide array of wildlife. Is that cool or what?! Just be prepared to spend, actually, a good amount of time there and also wait patiently, so that, basically, you can catch the animals as they swing by for a drink. Keep your eyes wide open for lions, giraffes, zebras, and, obviously, countless birds. You get some fab shots that way.
Later that afternoon, right, as the sun begins that descent, I was taken, right, to a carefully picked really nice spot to watch the sunset. Can you just, like, even try to think about how awesome that could be? Tsavo’s, as a matter of fact, vastness really adds an extra bit of drama, right, to that whole event. Sunset in Africa, by the way, is something that really cannot even be beat; so, too you won’t want to, arguably, forget that stuff! After a scrumptious dinner, anyway, at my lodge (I’ll speak on lodging later!), I actually crashed so very hard, already looking ahead to exploring Tsavo West the following day. A superb end to day number one!
Tsavo West: Dramatic Landscapes On Your Second Day
Day two brings in, too, a change of scene completely, as, in some respects, you make that transition over to Tsavo West. What’s awesome, anyway, is how different the scenery seems to be in comparison to its, really, eastern brother. The, actually, landscapes of Tsavo West tend to be a little bit dramatic, I think, I would say. Very dramatic!
First, though, I made that stop at the Mzima Springs, right, which are arguably fed by the Chyulu Hills. Keep a look out for hippos and crocs, anyway, there! So fascinating; who even knew, right? And also I’m able to check out the underwater viewing chamber where you could actually watch the hippos swim. So incredibly cool. From here I go on to see the Roaring Rocks. Just a really cool phenomenon where the rock seems to almost roar back at you as wind goes through it. Also be sure to see the Rhino Sanctuary as the chances to see them elsewhere are not good, actually.
Tsavo West also had some, for instance, spectacular vantage points to keep on the lookout for the fantastic views! Seriously incredible. I mean it! Poacher’s Lookout gave, too, views that extended for miles, actually! From what I hear it really gave rangers the means, that, to watch over the place long ago. As the day moved along, anyway, so, too, I ended the safari absolutely feeling blown away. It had such great landscapes plus those incredible creatures, too!
Where to lay your head: Safari Lodges & Campsites
About finding that, perhaps, cozy sleep spot? So, whether the desire is for, say, luxury or for, perhaps, a bit roughing it up close to what matters, these parks cater for any style. There, clearly, exist many lodges giving, for instance, awesome comfort. I checked in, after all, to a lodge which, in a way, came with scenic lookout views right over that watering hole and, in short, gave a super fantastic opportunity, say, to just keep checking the animals. I was at the lodge and, you know, could keep tabs. If you desire, right, adventure, camping spots are seemingly available for those which desire camping in these awesome settings! Just listen carefully to the sounds during the night.
A quick tip that might come in handy is; Booking lodgings well in advance will make certain that there actually will be room, notably during high season periods, just like I like to make certain to make clear in reviews like these!

A bit of prep goes so very far, it might be safe to, arguably, say! Here I, very clearly, drop a list with that bit of info which will most likely allow planning, so that, after all, the safari takes place with almost no worries.
