The Scottsdale Copper Canyon Puzzle Ride Adventure, too, it’s almost may be just what you have been after. I went along with a few of my family members, very really, for an afternoon out, and I have gathered all the bits you might want to read about it before you book your spot.

Alright, so imagine a scavenger hunt combined with an off-road tour, yet, that is the main idea. Figuring out one clue points you toward the next stop, so, more or less, as you explore the desert scenery.

The whole trip takes somewhere in the area of three hours, usually, as I found out, and it is designed for groups, potentially your family, your workmates, or just some friends who like a bit of an unusual outing, really, actually. Solving each riddle gets you closer to some kind of final goal. The goal, in my own experience, isn’t, really, about the treasure so much, it is instead about the experiences along the ride, frankly.

The Experience: My Copper Canyon Adventure

For instance, you climb into this open-air Hummer – already pretty excited just about the vehicle alone – and our guide, maybe, I remember her name was Sarah, basically, greets us all with plenty of excitement. She explains what we will experience. She provides, too it’s almost, the safety guidelines. And the rules are clear: have plenty of fun, be respectful of the environment and any animals, plus, of course, don’t, definitely, cheat on the puzzles, you know.

So, the ride starts off smooth enough, usually. We trundle down paved roads with some views toward distant mountains. Then you turn off-road. Here is where it got rather interesting. It got bumpy very rapidly! As a matter of fact, we all laughed while bumping around in our seats. Fortunately, the views were amazing. So then you are snaking in between rock formations and cacti, actually. That makes it all worth it. Sarah would usually stop in safe places, right then? To point out some plants or animals we might not see. It made a bit, a little the experience both exciting and very instructive.

Alright, you will get the first puzzle fairly quickly, like your laminated card. You discuss that thing with the group for about ten minutes or so, or, at least, that is what we did. Then someone shouts out the solution. It all gets rather interesting. In fact, the first puzzle was tied to some big rock structure in the canyon. Once you figure that puzzle out, the next spot is now, very clearly, based on her directions, at least. These locations include canyons, lookout spots and hidden spots. It felt just a little bit you were searching to discover Scottsdale. We managed to discover many sights. I might have passed straight by, maybe, as it goes without saying, yet they are now burned permanently in my memory. Basically, I have photos on my phone to remember the experience, and stuff.

Puzzles and Challenges

I did discover the puzzles ranged a bit, a little in difficulty, seriously. Some required really careful observation of our spots, apparently. Some required to figure out historical tidbits. Some required you to find plaques or listen to the things our guide had to say. I think I got lucky as I was traveling, maybe, with a pretty smart crew. We all enjoyed this instead of being handed an answer, basically, alright. You gain more pleasure that way, too, arguably.

There were, anyway, times it was more than puzzle-solving, naturally. There were even times the challenge came in the form, tends to be, of a scavenger hunt for small, local gemstones! Then, one other time, the guide blindfolded whomever volunteered. A volunteer smelled local plants. Based on what the plant was, for instance, the contestant provided an answer. These small activities offered us another twist. They, clearly, also highlighted just a bit about the nature around us, and so on.

Hydrate a lot: You are in the desert. If it seems arid, definitely, that is cause it mostly likely really actually is arid, literally, definitely! We brought enough water to open up our own outdoor public pool, right. It was a good thing. The operator likely supplies it, too, honestly. Water is crucial, right. The heat really could zap your brain power, like.
Have a good group: As a matter of fact, this becomes something of a team event. Make sure there are smarties in the team. Just ensure someone has eyes so, okay, you might actually be capable of seeing something, well. Be certain people mesh just a bit, though. That helps get the problems sorted a little bit faster, definitely.
