Review: Krabi Roundtrip Taxi to Emerald Pool & Hot Spring
Visiting the Emerald Pool and Hot Spring near Krabi is so a super popular day trip. Yet, trying to figure out the transport there? Well, that could be quite confusing, honestly. There are heaps of options, from group tours to renting scooters, but what really grabbed my interest, it’s almost like, well, it’s this idea of a private roundtrip taxi. That way, it seemed like the simplest, comfiest, and likely, safest option. So, I booked one. And now, I want to share, like your friend would, what the experience was like.
Booking My Krabi Taxi: Ease and Convenience
Arranging the taxi was, in a way, fairly simple. There are quite a few companies you see advertised, even very reliable booking platforms, like Klook and GetYourGuide, offering these private transfers. I ended up going with a locally-owned company called “Krabi Cab” after reading some positive feedback. Their website, as a matter of fact, it was easy to use, and they got back to me, I mean, incredibly fast when I asked some pre-booking questions. Getting confirmation was very fast too it’s almost like they wanted to ensure my excitement. You see, I just supplied my hotel information, the date I wished to travel, and that time I wanted picking up, and that was really it. Very easy process to take the stress of the travels.
The Ride There: Comfort and Scenery
My taxi, like your taxi, you hope, showed up early. Always an awesome start, clearly. The driver, whose name I want to say was “Mr. Pong,” that is that he was friendly, polite, and had pretty good English. The vehicle, now, it was a newer model Toyota sedan, and honestly, it was spotless and had strong air con, very much appreciated, since Krabi heat can be, you know, fairly intense, I find. The ride itself, very smooth. Mr. Pong, I feel, was very careful behind the wheel, and the trip out to the Emerald Pool takes, maybe, an hour or so, that. It takes you through some very cool scenery, little towns, rubber tree farms and some fantastic limestone karsts looming in the distance.
At the Emerald Pool and Hot Spring: Making the Most of Your Time
One great perk with a private taxi, that is that you can stay however long you want to, within reason, obviously. Mr. Pong simply said he’d wait in the car park and I only had to ring him when I was about ready to leave, almost a bit too good to be true. I felt this was loads better than, for instance, being stuck on a fixed schedule with a big tour group. I hung around the Emerald Pool for, possibly, two hours. I went for a swim in the brilliantly blue water and then hiked up to the Blue Pool which is something else. It’s very sacred spot and you just can’t swim in there, very strictly so, yet, just seeing it was super memorable. The Hot Springs were neat too it’s almost like a super-chilled way to wind down. Those were about a fifteen minute drive further on. After taking it all in, it was fairly refreshing after swimming around and being sweaty.
The Return Trip: Relaxing and Reflecting
After all my fun, that time I contacted Mr. Pong, so he was there in no time at all. The trip back to the hotel? Well, it was really restful, clearly. The AC was pumping out cold air, I was tired from swimming, and I basically watched the surroundings for the whole trip. You know what? I’m very prone to travel sickness, that is that I get car sick pretty easily, so knowing I had my own space, where I was completely comfortable? It made the entire difference.
Cost Analysis: Is a Private Taxi Worth It?
Alright, I should probably get into that money thing, actually. A private roundtrip taxi to the Emerald Pool and Hot Springs from Krabi, this very thing, will usually set you back somewhere around 1800-2500 baht, you see. It all boils down to what company you go with and that style of vehicle you want. This, really, it’s quite a bit more than what you may expect paying for, possibly, a group tour, that can be anywhere from 500-800 baht per person, actually. Nevertheless, whenever you compare this with the price, and the hassle, really, of renting your own car or scooter? Well, I genuinely think it’s money pretty well spent. For a family, a group of three or four? Well, the price difference is nowhere near so substantial whenever it’s split between everyone, or in other words, makes much more sense than at first glance. Also, the private taxi wins easily due to, perhaps, that convenience and also comfort factor. It seems obvious.
Final Thoughts: My Recommendation
All in all, well, I’m truly able to say the Krabi private roundtrip taxi to the Emerald Pool and Hot Spring was very worth the money, arguably. The whole process was, honestly, super streamlined, the car was comfy, and having the freedom to plan my own time, that is that, well, really really precious, I thought. If you place value on a super comfortable, easy, or fuss-free experience? And you don’t really mind coughing up a little bit more cash? This here is hands-down the way I think you should go to see those places.
