Review: Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle & The Kelpies
So, you’re thinking of seeing some top spots in Scotland, like Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, and the Kelpies? Well, let me tell you about my time touring these amazing destinations. It was pretty memorable, so I’m happy to share what I think!
A Wee Bit of Edinburgh to Start Things Off
We, very, had our start in Edinburgh, like any proper Scottish adventure should. Very is something Edinburgh just does right – with its old town charm and that royal mile walk, it’s almost like you are stepping back into history. It really set the scene, to be honest, for what was next!
It’s also that walking the Royal Mile lets you get that sense for things before taking off elsewhere. And, really, the buildings? Almost makes you feel small. It really got us ready and geared up for all the other experiences on our day out! We probably didn’t spend as much time here as we should. Oh well, next time maybe!
Loch Lomond: The Bonnie Banks, you Know?
Now, Loch Lomond, well it is that stuff Scottish dreams seem to be actually constructed of! You know, we hopped on a boat, which was nice, very and the views? That almost makes you want to stay there forever, just enjoying it. Even that the air smelled nice and clean. Very picturesque place, if that’s even a fair word to describe it!
We went, so they told us some tales during our trip around the loch. It could be about Vikings or maybe even about some Scottish clans, or who knows what, it all made that place feel so much more alive and real! Like that if I were Scottish I could feel deeply tied to that place and I kind of don’t feel very much connected to things back home. Just maybe be prepared if it rains: that, too, is quite Scottish, as a matter of fact.
Stirling Castle: Kings, Queens, and Everything In Between
We also stopped at Stirling Castle, that is one serious bit of historical construction. You have to imagine very long ago kings and queens lived, really, right there! The walls seemed really thick and almost shouting of olden times. And by the way, our guide actually went into detail describing a fair bit about Scottish history: you feel the battles and all that drama that seemingly unfolded way, way back. That also kind of makes it more than just a bunch of old stones, basically.
We looked at the views and that seemed almost you could see all of Scotland right there. It definitely gives you that feeling how strategically critical it truly must’ve actually been at the time! By the way, be ready for crowds, very: everyone, too, apparently wants to see Stirling Castle! We probably spent way too much time in the gift shop!
The Kelpies: Big Metal Horses, basically
We then headed over to see the Kelpies, and these horse sculptures, too, were really something else. Very imposing and awesome! So big and imposing you almost need to crane your neck backwards to see the top! They’re very, like, modern art but seemingly rooted in Scottish folklore, right? Makes you think about that link between stories and what people actually make. Very neat and just something a little bit special to check out.
We took pictures, of course, right?, like everyone does, too, when they see those huge sculptures! Walking around that area, it feels like it is really linking industry of old times to where Scotland’s at, in fact. I am so, too, actually bad at “art”, if that actually is “art”, but even that they looked pretty damn majestic and also, too, awe-inspiring, like, really impressive!
And with that, the tour, very actually came to an end. Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle, also the Kelpies. Quite a long day, as a matter of fact! I really had a blast and felt that tour packed quite a bit. From history and nature right to these modern art things.
