Review: Durres to Saranda, Blue Eye & Ksamil Islands Tour

Planning a trip to Albania? The Durres to Saranda route, often including the Blue Eye and the Ksamil Islands, seems to be a popular choice. Like your planning your dream trip, and you want the inside scoop, right? Well, here’s what you may expect.

First Stop: Durres, Albania’s Coastal Charm

So, it starts in Durres. It’s Albania’s second largest city, and, too, it boasts a pretty big port. A big port makes for a really pretty crucial bit when traveling around Albania. Now, your view, actually, you’re going to take is based around history, and if beaches and city life had a kid. What to do in Durres? Maybe you are keen to see the Roman Amphitheatre. That particular site dates back to the 2nd century AD, if you are interested. Very old. Or, also, there are beaches! The city beaches in Durres might seem like okay choices to get a little fun. Just picture warm water, sand, and maybe you are on to seeing some local eateries that are amazing.

Like, for example, think about kicking it at Venetian Tower, that could be amazing, because that’s part of the old city walls. After checking the local spots to chow in, I’m of the opinion you might want to just grab your phone, set the navigation going on, and head straight towards the south. Adventure awaits!

Saranda: The Unofficial Capital of the Albanian Riviera

Saranda Albanian Riviera

Saranda? Oh man, so, it’s quite the change of pace. Moving south from Durres, this place feels pretty, darn Mediterranean, right? It seems like the vibe gets really bumped up! If that’s what you feel too. Also, this spot hugs the coast, looking very closely to Corfu. Saranda seems like your go-to point to find some of Albania’s better places. What’s actually happening here is something beautiful in ways you cannot expect, I promise.

Maybe picture the sun, so you got the sea in its complete radiant glimmer. It bounces, apparently, and so too Saranda is filled up with waterfront restaurants! So, this is pretty good for fresh seafood. Or you may want to check Lekuresi Castle out, and this is because that perch sits right atop of a tall, big hill. This location is really, extremely perfect so you may watch the whole coast! It could be romantic or great pictures, probably both.

The Blue Eye: Mother Nature’s Masterpiece

The Blue Eye Albania

It’s almost time for the star, as some people have put it! You may find out that it is on the way between Saranda and Gjirokaster, which you’ll be driving to the Blue Eye. The Syri i Kaltër – what they have actually nicknamed “The Blue Eye” – actually springs naturally. The water bubbles coming up from that underground location makes it just appear crazy, vibrant, and, as some people may tell you, ‘blue!’ The setting can make it just unreal; as the very dark color is, for some reason, making everybody sort of calm.

You’re just in the park that has beautiful trees all in it and that could mean good spots for great photo opportunities. Just be mindful that sometimes the road can feel just a little crowded, and so to avoid disappointment, just know it may have big crowds. Is that a deterrent to see it? You might think so, but really just push to see it if you are there already.

Ksamil Islands: Albania’s Tropical Getaway

Ksamil Islands Albania

Okay, so, there are those beaches, right? Albania has many great places where it’s really fun just to relax, maybe soak in some warmth, and basically get the most beautiful views. Then this next level comes, as you find yourself traveling, likely it’s almost a very small skip coming south away from Saranda. Right past Butrint! Now you’re close to something special in my opinion. I think Ksamil, the nearby islands – yeah, really, actually feels like somebody lifted bits straight from paradise. That is if there is such a thing. These cute, little islands do just bring crazy feelings inside you!

Well, this is the spot; in other words you can basically get on over that clear sea. The water’s usually super clear. So it appears to basically just say ‘jump on in!’ If, as well as that, you are to hire something like paddle boats – and the sun, the good sunlight! Oh man, it will appear basically you are gliding straight across Heaven, that seems cool to me!

Boat Tours: Experiencing the Coastline Differently

Seeing all that southern coast really differently will mean so much different memories, almost. One thought: You go along Saranda, like your travel vendor, or just some little companies there that operate every single day, doing tons and tons of pretty popular day-cruises; So it gets even much better! Or your party might decide some private charters, if it will cost a lot less cash doing a deal like this! Usually what appears with all the boat trips like this; the captains? Oh dude! Every one knows how to travel these areas. You might enjoy secret little beach alcoves and grottos which mostly nobody gets to find that much, if anything.

You’re really basically paying, to maybe chill out, you just want sunlight; right? Probably there’s times where your captain says ‘yo check out something!’ He tells you ‘I want you all jump on in, because look – wildlife!’ Probably a lot! It comes mostly just from what location and whatever the given year it is like. Any case? Any occasion really. That water – dude- always sparkling. Also amazing. Take that chance I bet.

Okay, that concludes the whole rundown on Durres-Sarande trip with its wonderful pitstops, to sum it up. I hope all this really might bring help with sorting things, from setting yourself properly and being prepped right on. Do you like sunshine so well? Then you found that kind of experience, actually!
