Elephant Orphanage

Thinking of doing that classic Nairobi tourist trio – the Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre, and the Karen Blixen Museum? Well, you have come to just the place! It’s almost like every visitor does it, so I did too. This review has details and personal takes to maybe help you decide whether it’s your type of adventure. Maybe.

First Stop: David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage

The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage: probably what everyone thinks about, right? It’s seemingly the place where baby elephants, that lost their families, receive help and love. You see pictures, it’s moving, so that’s what drew me in first, too. They only let visitors in for an hour, that starts around 11 a.m., feeding time for the littlest ones.

That area with baby elephants seemingly stole the whole show! These little beings, wanting milk from big baby bottles, they ran like toddlers going for candy, like. It’s basically super sweet and makes for great pictures. It could be touching too. When one bumped against my leg, that’s it, a moment for me! That time gave a clearer picture of what those animals face as they try to survive in a pretty complicated world. I think it’s a spot everyone will be able to like.

Those employees explained things in such clear ways regarding how they rescue and prep the young elephants to join those bigger herds out there again. So basically they really appear dedicated to helping protect animals and Kenyan nature for real, really. However, heads up though: it’s gets really, really crowded. Finding the best spot may prove difficult, really, but showing up, just a little earlier could really assist you a little bit.

Next Up: Giraffe Centre – Eye to Eye with Giants

Giraffe Centre

Now, that Giraffe Centre, where they’re like, come face to face with the giraffes, that’s quite a turn. That’s found near the Elephant Orphanage too; like only short travel by car. This basically puts you on a tall platform so you meet these wonderful giraffes close. You receive a little feed pellet so that you are capable to let them have lunch, too.

It became hilarious getting giraffe kisses – those really rough tongues tickling your hands could happen so quick. These animals behaved gently that’s shocking given just how tall they got. And basically getting photos really made the whole trip. Yet, besides these friendly moments and awesome encounters, a great education can be received there regarding giraffe conservation, for instance. If perhaps traveling along with family, then the location is simply something of real significance. It’s just super interesting.

Stepping Back in Time at the Karen Blixen Museum

Karen Blixen Museum

The Karen Blixen Museum seemingly gives another layer – such one based around history and that colonial stuff, like, that made this region popular. This could be that farmhouse, where Blixen lived during that period which created the famous film, “Out of Africa.” That architecture, inside objects, those all stand maintained just the same manner which displays those days lived inside Kenya back when.

Maybe touring that property makes such things that movie portrayed very real. It’s almost possible envision yourself attending her soirees right there underneath these trees as these discussions came by. Maybe admirers who treasure “Out of Africa” basically would wish that place greatly, of course; basically history lovers could be super excited because this brings out colonial history here too. A guided walking tour would almost make this whole stop even deeper too.

But truthfully, if stories with that type won’t do a whole lot for somebody personally? Well maybe a pass happens next. That landscape basically surrounding will not be very sensational too versus these other things this locale is home with.

Planning Your Tour: What to Know

If interested around arranging things effectively on visiting those destinations next, a couple items exist here worth thinking around, basically speaking! Time management is key of course. A little consideration regarding traveling occurs among these destinations. Book bookings just a bit prior also could potentially keep anyone by getting stuck during super heavy times.

Think around doing either morning or afternoon travel if aiming during preventing heat especially. Sunscreen then a big cap, are generally essentials during hot situations really too. Or bring just the light sweater just a bit if it rains maybe during which things become cold also quickly also.

Is the Combined Tour Worth It?

Therefore is bundling all 3 popular locations just here seemingly sensible? Absolutely for lots traveling this route certainly. Every spot supplies something just so much unique making all of such combined locations only quite appealing particularly by new faces experiencing exactly that that section through Kenya might present only! When you do enjoy wildlife, have a real love when coming to that African Colonial history? Perfectly so this turns wonderful.

Think only during where specifically ones interest rest therefore if planning just things like these prove suitable specifically only during what you really personally might savor most throughout travels generally however too either because something better only perhaps, exists there elsewhere though just when others things excite ones individual just more too. As something truly tailored will make just that adventure a great better deal anyway seemingly overall.
