Okay, so, the excursion starts with, generally, transportation from a meeting point, or sometimes, directly from your hotel. It all depends on the booking option you choose, I think. The drive to El Eden, that can give you just a little taste of the countryside. It goes through the jungle that surrounds Puerto Vallarta, which is lovely, actually. When you get there, it’s obvious you’ve arrived at a spot that has served as a location for a movie. Did you know, actually, the movie Predator was filmed at least partly in El Eden? The river scenes from Predator were done at El Eden, which explains, now, why it has that movie vibe going on. I mean, it feels a bit touristy. Still, it is kinda wild being in an actual movie locale.

Hitting the Trails in a Dune Buggy

Alright, so, the main draw is, for many, the dune buggy tour. I’ll tell you what, you’ll hop into a buggy. After that, you’re following your guide, heading into the jungle trails. I guess it can be bumpy, and muddy. Too it’s definitely an activity where you might be glad if you have your, arguably, driving gloves. Just a thought! The buggies themselves can be a little older. Still, you will get what looks like a narrated tour. You pass through the jungle, see some cool landscapes, and it’s usually all really dirty fun. Yet, the tour guides typically sprinkle in little local insights, too it’s much more interesting that just a simple ride.

Soaring Through the Jungle: The Zip Line Experience

Zip Line El Eden

Zip-lining is, I suppose, often a big highlight for people. So, naturally, the zip lines at El Eden let you get this really cool bird’s-eye view of the jungle, which some people just absolutely love. Now, the platforms themselves may be set among the trees. You need to expect some moderate climbing is needed to reach, well, some of them. Too it’s worth thinking about this: the safety standards are adhered to by the staff. They’re attentive. However, in a way, safety guidelines are typically explained very swiftly before getting started. Yet, keep this thought with you: You can take photos during the tour. I think you’re safer leaving it all to the tour guides. Also, make sure you tip!

Other Activities and Amenities On-Site

El Eden River

El Eden might have quite a bit more than just dune buggies and zip lines. Apparently, they have things to offer beyond the two big activities. There’s that, I mean, river where you could just potentially go for a swim. It might be very refreshing, I think, after, sort of, bouncing around in the buggy all day. Also, there’s a restaurant, more or less, and bar. I mean, I think you should buy yourself a bite to eat or a, seemingly, cold drink, to unwind with. As I was saying, keep in mind that everything, from souvenirs to the refreshments, it’s priced, apparently, for tourists. Still, in my experience, the convenience it offers is worth that extra expense.

Is the El Eden Tour Really Worth Your Time and Money?

Puerto Vallarta Activities

Okay, the question is this. Does it measure up to the hype and your hard-earned cash? Well, it depends a lot, actually, on what you hope to get from the day. So, think of it like this: If you’re really hoping for just some kind of ultra-cautious, like, super modern experience? El Eden probably won’t quite hit the mark. As a matter of fact, if you prefer that, you are probably best sticking with the downtown resort swimming pool scene, yet, still… However! You will get an exhilarating ride if you are happy with some rough edges, and maybe enjoy that kinda chaotic element. And too, I almost think it’s fun doing that. So, is it something that is must-do? Like, is it essential that you experience this tour if you visit Puerto Vallarta? That’s tricky. There is just, honestly, an element of tourist-trap-ness to it. That is my perspective, anyway. On the other hand, where else are you going to have an adventure involving, literally, a movie set?!

Tips for Getting the Most from Your El Eden Visit

Travel Tips Puerto Vallarta

To begin with, here is my initial idea: Put on clothing that can get super dirty, I guess, or ruined, perhaps. Now, this might appear quite obvious, I agree, though it’s actually pretty vital. So, the jungle trails can be, in a way, very muddy, like, truly shockingly muddy, mainly if there’s been rain recently. Next, you’ll wish to think, now, regarding some repellent. Then, remember to protect yourself, not only, with that sunscreen, yet with a, I mean, great insect repellent, as the mosquitos really could be very lively in this area of the jungle. Another idea. I also think you need closed-toe footwear for things, too it’s also what the tour demands. I can tell you something though. Apparently, flip-flops or sandals won’t be suitable. Then too, you know, bring some money for things like tips, photographs and drinks. Next, just in case, carry your, typically, own bottled water with you to make sure, too, you stay really hydrated, which might be really important given how humid the jungle atmosphere can get. Finally, is that, perhaps, you aren’t okay with heights? Think long and hard about missing, now, the zip line section out.

Yes, too it’s my feeling the on-site restaurant typically has, usually, several options for folks avoiding things, like, the meat ones. I understand what that’s like. All their food I’ve had always had been just quite reasonable!
