Private Sacred Valley & Maras Moray Tour: An In-Depth Review

Okay, so, the Sacred Valley in Peru? It’s, you know, more or less a place you have to see. I mean, it is what it is, right? Getting out of Cusco and experiencing all that history? Well, it’s seriously something else. This review? It’s basically all about a private tour my friends and I did there. Was it a bit on the expensive side? Quite possibly. Worth it? Every single penny, actually. From start to finish, it was like stepping into another world, to be honest. But hold on, that said, not all tours are created equal, seriously. This one, though, it genuinely stood out.

Why Choose a Private Tour? Is it a game changer?

Private Tour Guide

Listen, so, you could go the, kind of, normal group tour route, which is, to be honest, fine, kind of. You get to see the sights, alright, and that’s cool, in a way. But a private tour? You get, literally, something special. Picture this: It’s just you, maybe with a couple of buddies or your family, and you’ve got a person there, that’s dedicated, you know, to show you all that he knows, alright. And it’s at your pace. No rushing to keep up with, literally, a big group. Pretty neat, right?

Also, like, that personal attention thing? That makes a big difference. Very big difference. Our guide, his name was Carlos. He wasn’t just reading from a script, is that clear? He clearly knew his stuff, you see. So he shared these stories, some amazing insights, stuff you simply don’t get on a regular tour. Very special stuff indeed.

Then, you see, there’s that flexibility thing. With a big group, it’s sort of like, you’re stuck with, well, the plan, is that right? With a private tour, however, you can be like, “Hey, can we actually spend, you know, more time at this one spot?”. Or, “Is it okay to quickly swing by, you see, this other spot that actually isn’t even on the tour route?”. Pretty sure, they’re more than happy to, actually, adjust things a bit for you. Talk about feeling well catered, seriously.

Sacred Valley Highlights: Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero

Pisac Market Peru

Okay, so, the Sacred Valley has lots of pretty cool stuff. It does. And the, like, best tours will typically hit the big spots. Places like Pisac, you know, Ollantaytambo, and Chinchero. You know what I mean? Those are sort of like the, you could say, “must-sees,” yeah?

Pisac? This place has, basically, this market, you know, where you can totally haggle for some stuff. So it could be souvenirs, could be textiles, you know, just remember to, as a matter of fact, bring your bargaining hat, basically. Very cool, yet? There’s also the Pisac ruins, you see. You hike up there, yeah? And it is that they’ve got amazing views of the valley, of course. Like, totally worth the climb, yeah?

Ollantaytambo? Picture this: It is this huge Inca site that clearly was, also, this strategic, well, place. I can see why. Seriously. These gigantic stones? They are, like, mind-blowing. The story? Kind of wild. So, anyway, it’s just an absolutely, incredibly beautiful place to, you know, wander around. Very impressive, and truly unique.

And Chinchero, too? Oh yeah, it’s got this charm, kind of old-school, very small-town. They are definitely known, of course, for their textiles, as well. The local women, very welcoming too. Very lovely indeed. Show you the weaving stuff, share what their history is. It’s all kinda cool. Gives you sort of like a peek into, well, traditional life. Anyway it’s, well, good stuff.

Maras Salt Mines: A Landscape Unlike Any Other

Maras Salt Mines Peru

Next, anyway, you are looking at a big star of the tour: the Maras salt mines. Oh, really? Now, those are something, too it’s almost unbelievable. Okay, here it goes: they aren’t just your run-of-the-mill salt mines, right? So, here’s something to hold on to; it is that you see thousands of these pools? Thousands. Very neatly terraced into the hillside? From way up high. Oh, really? The view is sort of spectacular.

Each pool, well, it has got, basically, it’s like its little owner, anyway, its family, that sees to it. As I was saying, that family still harvests salt using what their ancient ways were. A great many of these ways date way back, really. Actually? Way, way back, really, seriously. Like, we’re talking Inca times, I am, literally, almost positive, you hear? Kinda mind-blowing, isn’t it? If you would, basically, taste the salt. A little salty? Absolutely. Pretty cool to see, that is.

Moray: The Inca Agricultural Lab

Next on the itinerary, is it? Is this wild place named Moray. A place? I am completely positive, of course. A pretty weird name, that is. Here is what I picked up, yeah? That? You are viewing these huge, crazy circles. Actually, pretty big, very circular terraces. All perfectly made?

Oh, but get this. That Inca dude? Probably? Very smart guy. They made all this to sort of run their experiment. Yes indeedy. What goes is this is what I think happens: It could just be, they wanted to? See what crops? So? So they could figure out, yeah? Yeah I understand, something else would come of the terraces. Okay. So get this? The terraces can change so, anyway the little spot where the crops would be can now go to warmer spots. Really smart. The most intelligent guys I know did things like that, definitely.

Here, that’s what that sort of reminds me. Think, kind of, you viewing their ingenuity. I think about the Inca like that? You should too it’s almost. As I was saying, right? Smart guys like them doing great, anyway you know, farm ideas? Moray is where, alright, where they’re doing it.

Lunch and Local Cuisine: A Culinary Delight

Peruvian Lunch buffet

Alright, let’s get into what goes on about getting and eating eats in the valley. And about lunch, just so happens I’ve got, just about, the exact words to say for you. As I was just explaining above. One of these tours here, alright, alright I suppose. I would also have to, anyway, mention that the guides would just let everyone run wild? A small amount? Well then the guides could ask, really, can you find good local eats? That I am going to touch base on and, honestly, anyway.

I will go in a small ways. It’s a pretty unique chance, I might add, actually? Just so? Can so what I was saying now go on like I was going to, or, I was going about to? So here I am saying there is more I see from lunch, well yeah obviously. Not one can be so I can get every little one to love these things? So here: all they like about those, that taste? Wow, right? A good amount. No really, there can totally be stuff for anyone who is actually doing the whole valley run-around kinda thingy?

No matter which place, that’s, it just sort of rings a bell. Maybe it won’t just for the person or those persons. When and so you actually get the spot so anyway you should keep in the thoughts, like literally remember the place so very you may also very go for good plates after doing all the running too it’s almost? Just keep those on in your heart for a super way better food place you would be liking?
