First Impressions: Gearing Up for Adventure, Sort Of

Alright, from the get-go, that tour company, like, makes it simple to find ’em, to be honest. They’re located in a central spot, actually, inside Casco Viejo. Right off the bat, they greeted us with such enthusiasm; it was, like, welcoming. They gave us our bikes, which, I have to say, seemed reasonably maintained and fit just right, pretty much. Before pedaling, they took a minute to provide a run-through of the plan and handed out helmets and stuff, arguably.

Pedaling Through History: What We Saw

Now, get this: Casco Viejo is definitely something to behold, anyway! The bike tour winds through cobbled lanes, showing off all of that classic Spanish colonial vibe, to be honest. It has building following building, each boasting a story. We paused at spots such as Plaza de la Independencia and the Panama Canal Museum, actually, so it really brought to life some history that is hard to find. Our guide shared just a little bit of knowledge, providing insights into each landmark. The pedaling was mostly easy going, basically, yet a few hilly portions added a challenge.

Tasting Panama: The Food Element, Right?

Okay, here’s something I know you will want to read: the tastings! They included stops at little restaurants. We sampled ceviche (it’s something with fish) and local empanadas (tasty pies!), kind of, as well as a regional coffee. It was such fun because they helped provide an actual glimpse of Panama’s food culture. The portions were, in fact, just right – enough to give that tasty preview, basically, but small enough that we weren’t stuffed from all that. So, it wasn’t too heavy. Also, this was a way better experience that some other tasting activities in this region.

They clearly knew this location in every facet; from its architecture to all of its events. They actually sprinkled bits of facts and even kept it conversational, basically. He was also really receptive to some questions from that bunch of us and gave us some great ideas as well for what to do during all of the duration we were around the location, alright? This part felt way more interesting than any textbook example.

Things That Could Be Improved, A Little Bit

Look, no activity is absolutely perfect, seriously. A little bit of stuff, to be honest, could be better. The bicycles are pretty OK, that is. If they improved a little bit their care it could go a really extra distance, arguably, so the experience could change completely. Also, on sunny days, that heat can get intense; maybe they will provide water bottles during each ride, in short? Or, well, more shady breaks, potentially, that may solve that particular problem too.
