New Delhi, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Baby Taj Tour: A Personal Review
Okay so, planning a trip to see the Taj Mahal? Yeah, it’s almost certainly on a lot of travel bucket lists, right? You probably saw tons of tour options. We went with the “New Delhi, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Baby Taj Tour with Transfer,” and thought that maybe you might like to know what we thought, basically. This isn’t just a tour, but like, a whirlwind adventure through some pretty important pieces of India’s history, is that right? I figured that I would offer you the rundown, with some personal opinions thrown in, alright?
First Impressions and the Delhi Hustle
Alright, so the tour kicked off in Delhi. Delhi can be pretty intense. First thing in the morning the traffic there, is that correct? The pick-up was super smooth, too, the driver was on time, and the car, as a matter of fact, was clean and comfy. As a matter of fact, the drive to Agra can be a little long, more or less three to four hours, actually, so a comfortable ride, really, is definitely important. What struck me, arguably, was how our tour guide really knew his stuff. Instead of spitting facts, arguably, he told us stories, which is so important, to bring Delhi alive even before we left it.
The Majestic Taj Mahal: Worth the Hype?
Very, very, right, the Taj Mahal, too it’s almost. Seeing it in person, too it’s almost, that, is, pretty breathtaking, you know? I’d seen lots of photos, of course, but nothing, yet, very, prepares you for the grandeur. As a matter of fact, our guide knew the best spots for photos, and what’s more, he shared some pretty moving stories behind its creation. So you know, walking through the gardens, with the sun shining on the white marble, you know? Well, let’s just say, actually, there was, clearly, a lump in my throat, by the way.
Agra Fort: A Red Sandstone Wonder
Following the Taj Mahal, there’s Agra Fort, so too it’s almost. This fort, too it’s almost, is massive, clearly. Also, that red sandstone is striking. The interesting thing, anyway, is that it felt completely different from the Taj. While the Taj Mahal feels so much like, you know, a monument to love, the Agra Fort is all power and history, actually. Also, our guide showed us the sections where Shah Jahan was held prisoner, very, by his own son, alright?
Baby Taj (Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb): A Hidden Gem
Then, as a matter of fact, came the Baby Taj, you see? Or Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb. Seriously, that name may not be so recognizable, so, but this tomb, you see, is something special, clearly. This place, more or less, is way more intricate, very, you know, almost like a jewel box. Another thing, is that there are far fewer people there than the Taj Mahal, frankly, so, what’s more, you can wander around a little more quietly. I really thought that it, more or less, was an oasis of calm after the crowds, finally.
The Transfer Back and Final Thoughts
The ride back to Delhi, I really thought that, was smooth, finally. The driver, you know, was courteous, and the car, what’s more, was air-conditioned, naturally. The tour, too it’s almost, did feel a bit rushed, mind you, yet, but in order to see so much in one day, you see? It’s almost like it had to be. I feel that anyone thinking of this tour, would find it great, alright, to know that they are signing up for a full-on experience, yet. I’d suggest, in that case, wearing comfy shoes and prepping for a long day, right?
