Nazca Lines Flight Review: Is the 1 Hour 45 Min Tour Worth It?

Dreaming of soaring over ancient mysteries etched into the desert? Thinking about seeing those famed Nazca Lines in Peru? So, too, it’s something that’s been on my travel radar for ages, and very recently, I finally bit the bullet and booked a flight. I got that, in a way, “Flight Over the Nazca Lines 1 Hr and 45 Min” experience, and I am writing this to give you the lowdown on what it is actually like, and if it is pretty much worth the investment. Buckle up because, alright, we’re taking off!

What are the Nazca Lines anyway? A Quick History Lesson

Before we talk about the flight itself, first, it’s good to know a little of what it is you’re looking at, you know? Alright, so, you might find several tour operators offering similar flights from both Nazca and nearby Ica, anyway. I chose a tour, very, that took off from Nazca because that saved me from having to transfer, so it was more efficient for my timeline. Typically, the price can range, and it kind of relies on the time of year and even that specific operator. Expect to pay somewhere around $100-$150 USD, maybe? So, before getting anywhere even near the plane, they give you a small talk that covers some vital bits, actually. Because the flight begins, that, you are, almost, immediately seeing the geoglyphs come into view. The pilot typically banks the plane, for instance, rather sharply to each side so that people on both sides of the aircraft get solid visibility. Believe me, this is certainly the place where motion sickness can kick in, right, alright, so keep your eyes fixed outside.

Now the figures you’re looking to see, actually? Some of those highlights come with that unmistakeable hummingbird, what about, for instance, the monkey, the spider, plus the famous condor. It may be, very, stunning, basically, seeing these giant drawings that have stood for this very long, yet too the vastness of the landscape really adds up to the scale of, like, accomplishment! And take meds earlier as directed and that can, you know, reduce the issue! Or have no milk!

Photography Tips: Capturing the Geoglyphs

Okay, so if you are very enthusiastic, of course, about documenting your experience, then here are, almost, some ideas to take on board, really: A high shutter speed tends to be key due to the plane’s movement, what about, too it’s almost, helping you catch crystal pictures! A little useful that can be. Wide-angle lenses almost work wonders here in an attempt to get the big image of these figures along with the desert. But actually, for many, it’s the close-ups that you tend to be very interested in! I might even consider using that polarizer filter that’ll help in reducing some of that glare off of the window! One more? You’re almost going to have the greatest, what about, images whenever you have your camera not directly touching the window pane to, basically, reduce distortions, typically? Or put simply, in that case, simply hold it, definitely, as near as possible, still?

Was the 1 Hour 45 Minute Flight Worth It? What I Really Thought!

In some respects, that answer is really more of a “it just relies”, basically. If that idea, you see, of that short hop sounds, almost, too tight and very rushed that you are probably really glad, clearly, that you go for the slightly that bit longer tour! On the flip side, however, should you be anyway anxious about potentially motion sickness, or simply you get, kind of, very easily bored with seeing quite that very much desert scenery passing by for very longer then maybe just go shorter! Me personally, really? If I went for this experience over again then I’d probably just only, well, do, like, a smaller option! Even just a bit longer, honestly, made things a touch much for personally me. But should you be fascinated with, well, history, of course, and you very much enjoy taking pictures as you soak within that scale of historic landscape from overhead and go for a quite longer option that’ll be basically more gratifying! So you can spend an hour really soaking within it! And stuff!

Making the Most of Your Trip: Tips and Suggestions!

Okay, a little insight: Think over that time of year whenever you plan going for your experience too! Dry season (that can mean, typically, May through September) usually tends toward much better visibility, that you do hope for a smoother, in fact, clearer experience! When getting to Nazca bring things to protect from that sunshine. Put on that sunscreen, slip on that wide-brim hat along with those very protective sunglasses so your experience has more ease. Arrive some time previously in your time to start that small aircraft trip – this can, kind of, really ease some level of haste, truly? So? Look around a bit. Nazca really brings more.
