Legoland Florida Ticket: A Parent’s Review and Guide
Thinking about treating your family to a day filled with Lego adventures and refreshing water park fun? Purchasing a 1-Day Water and Theme Park ticket to Legoland Florida Resort could be something for you to consider! Our experience with this option had a few ups and downs, and so I felt a review might assist you as you’re sorting out what to do and whether this is a smart option for your family.
What Does the 1-Day Water and Theme Park Ticket Offer?
The 1-Day Water and Theme Park ticket basically gives you admission to both the main Legoland Florida theme park, and Legoland Water Park on the very same day. This appears great, especially if your little ones are fans of Lego bricks and enjoy splashing around. It’s pretty cool to have this all in one package, as this provides an option for diverse entertainment without buying two separate tickets, or perhaps arranging two different visits. Something to consider when thinking about tickets.
The main Legoland park features a mix of rides geared at younger children, shows, and attractions where, as a family, you and yours can admire the Lego artistry. There’s Miniland USA with miniature versions of cities made out of Lego bricks (quite something to behold, actually). There are other themed areas, like Lego Ninjago World and Lego City, which can keep children pretty interested, actually.
Now, when it comes to the Water Park, there’s a wave pool, several water slides, and the super popular, ‘Build-A-Raft’ river, where guests get the opportunity to float on custom-made rafts built with soft Lego bricks. The park appears designed so that the younger children can feel both safe, and can explore the various water areas that have lifeguards watching every step. Speaking from the experiences that I have had, it looks fun.
Our Day at Legoland: A Blend of Bricks and Splashes
We decided to go with this ticket, hoping to maximize our day, and to see if this could work for future family plans. It turned out a bit mixed. At first, the excitement levels were very high; the kids basically ran, not walked, to get onto every ride, yet the lines definitely tested our patience. Even though it was not exactly peak season, that said, we spent longer than expected just standing around in lines.
Miniland USA, without a doubt, grabbed the children’s attention. They wandered through it pointing at the cities that they recognised and commenting on Lego recreations of these well known locations. This appeared to me, at least, to be the high point of the Legoland Theme park.
In the afternoon, we walked over to the Water Park. This seemed like a perfect break from all the activity, especially due to the Florida heat. The ‘Build-A-Raft’ river appeared to be a hit, although securing Lego bricks seemed like something of a challenge as seemingly everyone wanted them all at once! There could definitely be a lesson to learn about Lego brick availability and management at that attraction.
Navigating Crowds and Making the Most of Your Time
One thing that quickly became apparent is that doing both parks in just one day needs, I believe, a strategic approach. Trying to squeeze in all there is, seems like a mission. When looking back, my thought is to focus on hitting the popular rides as soon as the park opens. Or perhaps consider purchasing a Reserve ‘n’ Ride pass, something which I’ll discuss further along.
The crowds can become quite sizable, particularly during school holidays, so arriving early can often assist in shortening the waiting periods. The Water Park tended to get more crowded as the day progressed, especially as individuals attempt to escape the heat of the Florida sunshine. Planning for quieter periods is obviously going to allow more opportunities for enjoyment.
Dining and Refreshments: Fueling Your Legoland Adventure
Legoland, just like any other major theme park, provides multiple choices for dining. You may find, even though some options may look attractive to kids, that they tend to be on the pricey side. Quick-service restaurants are everywhere around the park and offer options such as burgers, pizza, and sandwiches. Those with dietary restrictions should probably be mindful that choices that meet certain dietary requirements could, seemingly, be a little limited, so checking the menu ahead is a really good plan.
I did notice that bringing your personal water bottles is definitely something you should consider. Staying hydrated, mainly because of the Florida heat, is absolutely crucial, so bringing your refillable bottles is pretty useful. There are water stations located dotted all over the park where, you see, you can refill them.
Maximizing Your Ticket: Is Reserve ‘n’ Ride Worth It?
Legoland provides a Reserve ‘n’ Ride system. This system seems great as it reduces the waiting time at many popular rides. The way that this works, from the perspective that I observed, is that you get to virtually reserve your spot on a ride. Once it’s your turn, then you turn up and join a much shorter line.
When looking at our visit, paying that extra dollar or two for Reserve ‘n’ Ride, could perhaps have greatly enhanced our experience. Even though this incurs an additional fee, you may feel that the time saved is worth the extra investment. What I will suggest however, is that this is strongly considered on busy days. It’s not quite cheap, yet, the boost in being able to ride more in a shorter amount of time can bring great benefits. I believe this has the greatest appeal, specifically, if you’re only there for one day and wish to get in every activity.
