I’ve actually visited lots of mosques in a handful of countries. You know, the quiet peace you feel when you walk in (barefoot, of course!) is rather unique, very. A calming feeling almost comes over you immediately, it’s almost like that.

One word of advice? Because it’s, arguably, still a working mosque, visiting times are a little limited during prayer times; usually, you should plan your visit accordingly. Also, dress appropriately, usually covering shoulders and knees. I would say, it’s really, more respectful and allows everyone to experience the tranquility fully.

Lunch Break: A Taste of Turkey

After a morning of seeing historic places, basically, you might want to refill the tank, more or less, which brings us to lunch! The tour includes a stop at, literally, a restaurant where you get to eat dishes from Turkey, and things of that nature. One bit I enjoyed specifically was touring the Harem, kind of, which gave a glimpse into the family lives, seemingly, of the royals. This stop offers probably the best look, like your, at the power, let’s say, and style of the Ottoman Empire.

The Grand Bazaar: Shop ‘Til You Drop

You know, no visit to Istanbul would be completely whole without a trip to the Grand Bazaar, am I right? Basically, this massive, fairly, covered market is filled up with vendors selling everything from lamps to jewelry, very. The thing here really, isn’t only shopping, as a matter of fact, but truly feeling the atmosphere.

And do you know what is the thing to do? I would bargain a bit when prices are presented because it’s sort of, kind of, part of the fun! Try sipping some tea, just, with a merchant. After all, this stop provides you with a full-on sensory experience that’s, mostly, pretty unforgettable.

Is this tour good for you? Considerations

Here are several things that you might like, as I was saying, to ponder prior to signing up.

• Pace: I’m honestly telling you, the full-day format actually, means you’re visiting various spots; that means that sometimes, a rushed experience could happen if you aren’t expecting it. Just because of this, I wouldn’t say, if slow-paced exploring is what you like most.
• Group Size: Because it’s a group tour, okay, so expect you will be with fellow travelers. Obviously, group dynamics actually influence enjoyment. I think, small groups actually could enable greater flexibility along the way.
