Booking and Expectations

Booking Adventure Tours

First off, let’s talk about booking this experience. The website made it look pretty incredible. They showed vibrant photos, almost of everyone having a great time, and talked about how awesome the views are. That is actually what got me to pull the trigger. I thought, you know, I could use a little break from everyday work. The whole process, actually from start to finish was pretty simple – pick your date, almost add any extras (like transportation), and pay up. Easy peasy. My hopes were really sky-high. I pictured myself soaring over forests, floating down a very calm stream, and riding a super gentle horse as the sun starts going down. Like your typical postcard picture, almost.

Ziplining: Soaring High or a Little Iffy?

Ziplining Experience

The ziplining part was actually first on the agenda, and let me say this now, is that it was really quite a mixed bag. The views, so as promised, were certainly mind-blowing. Imagine, truly like your, seeing rolling green hills and this huge valley from way up high. That is a thing of beauty, almost, alright? But, and here’s the thing, is that the equipment, so it felt just a little dated. You know, maybe not brand-spanking new. I overheard another traveler say something like, “I thought they might’ve replaced that hook,” or something. It got me feeling slightly nervous, very, very, slightly alright? The guides seemed nice, more or less, but maybe also seemed a bit too relaxed, just laughing with one another. As I was thinking, I want them laser-focused on making sure we’re all safe, almost.

River Tubing: Lazy Bliss or Just a Bit Muddy?

Lazy River Tubing

After the ziplining, it was time to actually hop in a tube and, like your, just drift down the river. I was really hoping for super peaceful vibes, you know, soaking up the sun. It started that way too. I was just gently floating along, listening to birds, when it, that started pouring with rain. Not their fault, I understand that of course, but still. This very calm float, almost, quickly turned into more like an unexpected, quite bumpy ride. The stream, now running much faster because of rain, meant there were areas I needed to kind of really paddle like mad to prevent myself from being swept into rocks. The water also, just a little after the rain, was no longer clear. That might be something to keep at the front of your mind too.

Horseback Riding: Gentle Trot or a Bumpy Ride?

Horseback Riding Adventure

Finally, the last part was horseback riding. I will just say straight off, is that I’m actually no cowboy. I haven’t been on a horse since I was just a young child, just learning all there is. The horse they gave me, so it seemed nice. Seemed rather placid and I think it’s called “Patches,” and at first, that was everything okay. That’s that kind of thing I expected. But Patches clearly had other ideas. About halfway through our route, he decided he liked munching on the tall, rather attractive grass more than following the group. Getting him to move needed just a little bit more effort than I thought it might. The trail too it’s almost was more rugged than I assumed, a bit like, and I bumped into just, very many, a few low-hanging branches. The sunset views? Breathtaking, as always. But to be very honest, is that I was far more concerned, so I wouldn’t fall off Patches.

Food and Facilities

Outdoor Dining

Lunch was part of the package too it’s almost. It was a pretty simple BBQ. I saw what’s that kind of meat, kind of potato salad, almost like corn. Not great, or bad. Very simple, and pretty functional, that, like your, kind of food. The restrooms. They had bathrooms, and as far as I could tell, the were stocked with stuff. It feels very rustic, actually alright?

If you’re quite a sucker for a super day outside and like the feeling of variety, I think it might work, very, very, probably alright? Keep these tips at the front of your mind: Maybe check on gear conditions, that. You see if they provide better protection when there’s a likelihood of streams and streams, alright? Take riding boots for any of the, like your, horsey portions of what you’re experiencing.
