Hidden Beach, Puerto Vallarta: A Review of All-Inclusive Tours
Okay, so the Hidden Beach in Puerto Vallarta is pretty much on everyone’s must-see list, right? That one-of-a-kind, picture-perfect spot seems, you know, totally unreal. Honestly, getting there? Not something you can just decide on that morning. You pretty much need a tour. So, I thought I’d go through some all-inclusive options and tell you about my time there, pointing out the good stuff and, yeah, those bits that could be a little better. We are discussing the type of thing you would tell a close friend so that their next experience will be simply that much better, of course.
What Makes Hidden Beach So Special
Hidden Beach, or Playa Escondida, is, seemingly, hidden away in the Marietas Islands. Actually, these islands aren’t that far off the coast of Puerto Vallarta. The crazy thing is, it’s believed that these unique rock formations, so pretty special in their own way, happened because of, uh, well, testing way back when. I guess it just goes to show you, sometimes accidents lead to, seemingly, the coolest spots. The islands turned into a national park, the Marietas Islands National Park, back in ’05, and because of that, we now have a space where you can see tons of cool marine life and these wild birds you won’t see anywhere else.
Okay, so getting into Hidden Beach? A bit of a mission, not gonna lie. To do this, you need to, almost, swim through this somewhat long tunnel at times. At other times, its rather short too, but I was still thinking the water level seemed almost like a fun, wild surprise at times. At some moments, the water is almost at shoulder height! Make sure you take the best tour, and also that you feel good about swimming since not all tours allow a lifevest or they just go too quickly for someone slower. Trust me, that makes getting to the beach itself such an adventure and even the reason I keep returning!
Choosing the Perfect All-Inclusive Tour
Okay, you may be, like your friend, now wanting to hit up Hidden Beach, but really how do you pick the tour that won’t make you regret life? The first thing is what’s actually offered. Some tours give you, very much, just the bare basics: ride to the islands and, likely, entry to the beach if you’re up for a serious swim. Then some are, like, bringing the party to you, which actually works as you have to take boats, sometimes as long as two hours or so depending on weather.
So, it’s almost like this: Do you want snacks, drinks, maybe some snorkeling, or someone actually walking you to the beach so you don’t have to be super worried, since I noticed people seem anxious as all heck during a wild swim with some decent undercurrents to worry about! Also, are you caring about the size of the group? Basically, there’s an ocean of ways to travel in a variety of styles. Tours leave you feeling like one giant cattle-car being carted from location to location; other tours let you sit and relax with more quiet spaces. It’s basically, like, figuring out your travel style and picking a company that feels like the one you were expecting from their advertisements and reputation!
A Closer Look at Tour Operators
So, now is where you will want some actual names and companies, yes? Well, there are tons, and even the smallest street-side location can send you there via a third party if you’re not watching! First, check out Vallarta Adventures. These guys tend to run some pretty popular trips, usually on big catamarans, and, honestly, their focus is fun. They’re typically reliable, and, often, their staff is, seemingly, pretty rad, especially with keeping the drinks coming and also, as I was saying, making sure everyone is doing alright!
The only catch I always find is the numbers! Tours may just fill so quickly, or maybe because you showed up when a bunch of, basically, convention goers all did at once! What could happen is that some of these larger operations may have, seemingly, less personalized service and there will be waiting from activity to activity. Eco Tours Vallarta is more for the quieter folks, more for those who don’t need all the thrills, but basically do want an awesome memory. You’ll tend to have a biologist, or naturalist nearby so, in other words, you learn something along the way. Plus, these tours seem like they really try to limit the number of people, and I have come to love that over the years.
My All-Inclusive Tour Experience
For one of my Hidden Beach trips, I opted for one of the mid-tier tours. Okay, so I will never mention them as a brand for purposes of this article, but honestly, I paid alright and wasn’t sure of what was next! The boat had seen better days, but the staff? Top-notch. Okay, so they kept everyone happy, they basically, I think, went over and above to point out birds and different animals along the route.
However, getting to the beach was actually nuts. I feel so much, more or less, was getting prepared about some strong currents so you basically almost did the whole experience feeling anxious because it seems your group wasn’t very well trained on communicating about those risks before going. And if that wasn’t, potentially, almost one-upped on the adventure factor, know the, a bit, short amount of time you got on the actual beach felt very short because you are doing something so, frankly, hard work to be present!
Essential Tips for Your Hidden Beach Visit
Hidden Beach? Really amazing, yeah? But before you head out, like your amazing buddy would let you know, here’s some advice. Sunscreen is super vital, even on cloudy days. Actually, pack a ton. And keep in mind to reapply like crazy, as you know it, especially because you’re in and out of the water.
If you have your own gear for snorkeling, you might as well, likely, bring it, unless your tour says they include decent stuff. What happened on one of my tours is they went the, almost, bare minimum that really made some other adventurers slightly miffed to see people could barely even breathe. Lastly, respect all guidelines so that, obviously, the ecosystem there just is not hurt, or changed, in any type of way, or for any other visitors too!
So, basically, Hidden Beach is truly worth the hoopla. By basically doing a tiny amount of looking into a proper and, potentially, respectable all-inclusive tour operator will seemingly give memories you may be almost, likely, trying again someday!
Key Takeaways:
- Pick your tour after considering its group size, since this matters for individual consideration.
- Do not hesitate packing lots of eco-friendly, environmentally safe sunblock because burns are something that happen in reality on such a great location for vacationing.
- Really get an handle about realistic swim goals from boat to the beach. Don’t believe them on the hype, call the business ahead of booking!
