If you’re looking for something very relaxing and really quite gorgeous to do when visiting the Antalya region of Turkey, the Green Canyon boat trip with lunch is absolutely worth checking out. I mean, really, who can say no to crystal clear waters, great landscapes, and food all in one go? That, and a tan to boot, of course! Now, the canyon, that’s almost hidden in the Taurus Mountains, is seriously breathtaking, so getting to explore it by boat actually made for a fantastic day out. The boats which take you around are often double-decker type things. Now, that can be awesome for soaking up the sun up top, or locating some shade below. Anyway, during my visit, the boat had places where you could lie down and chill, or, of course, sit around tables if that’s more what you prefer. Still, very quickly you realize that there’s the chug of the motor and the soft ripples in the water – a bit hypnotic, as it were.

Something you’ll like about this is, that you are given so much time just taking it all in. Plus, the tours I found had audio information in various languages to describe the background and geological significance. Actually very interesting, you see, when you are looking at all these views. Just a bit of commentary there really does make you feel more linked to the location. I have to admit that I found the open top deck the sweet spot from where to view everything. Of course, bring your sunscreen!

Swimming in Emerald Waters: Feeling Refreshed

Swimming in the Green Canyon really feels special. When we were on our trip, that tour guide stopped the boat in one or two amazing places and literally said, “Jump in!” or something to that effect. Actually, you get an invitation into the water with little to no prompt, which is nice. Honestly, jumping into that fresh, turquoise water – almost the perfect counterpoint to Turkey’s summer heat – really, felt amazing.

Now, water fans may want to know that that reservoir, at some points, can be super deep, so they’ll make sure everyone has access to things like life vests. As a matter of fact, if you do happen to be taking the trip with smaller children, then always keep an eye on them. But all around, this does make it super safe and welcoming for lots of kinds of people.

Lunch by the Lake: Refueling with Local Flavors

One of the things about booking these trips, is they really do take care of you; the meal by the lake really demonstrates that. You know, picture being taken to this beautiful spot around the Green Canyon, that is ready with tables, and smells drifting from an amazing barbecue. To be honest, during my experience the food was pretty great – normally that means some sort of grilled fish or chicken. Also rice, salads and fresh local bread. Also, you never go thirsty because things like soft drinks and water are normally included in the costs.

Sitting there, getting to eat with such gorgeous landscapes around really is something else. So too, it’s very good for relaxing and mingling with whoever is on your boat tour! Seriously, the combo of both tasty local eats with striking scenery really did create a meal which you would be sure to actually remember.

The whole Green Canyon experience, really, is basically picture-perfect, and trust me, you may want to have a camera to make the most of that! That’s especially so if, like me, you seriously geek out over shots which are insta-worthy! First, the reflective, peaceful water juxtaposed with some greenery makes almost every shot seem more polished than perhaps it really is. It is all quite idyllic, after all.

Honestly, don’t forget all those angles: getting landscape photos right from your boat or getting a killer swimming shot are all something to think about, to say nothing about wildlife pictures that you see while there, such as the birds! If you can, catch that light throughout golden hour – either at the very beginning, or at sunset – it really works for those stunning vacation photos that would become treasures soon enough.

Booking and What to Think About: Getting the Most Value

Now when booking, bear this in mind, it can be advantageous to explore various booking platforms to locate good deals.
