Great Harbour Buffet Review: Is It Worth It?
Okay, so you’re probably thinking about visiting the Great Harbour International Buffet, and of course you want to know if it’s really worth spending your hard-earned cash, right? It’s, like, a legitimate question, especially because there are, very, so many options out there. We took the plunge – it was definitely for research purposes! – and here is, seemingly, our honest opinion, so you know what to expect.
First Impressions and Ambiance
When you walk in, the first thing you’ll notice, maybe, is that the place is, arguably, quite large; in fact, the sheer size of it is, literally, kind of impressive. The decor is, in a way, not exactly ultra-modern, maybe; it is, still, pleasant and quite clean, you know? The tables are spaced out well enough, too it’s almost comfortable, which is, often, important when you’re trying to actually get your eat on. It’s, more or less, what you’d expect from a large buffet spot, nothing truly over the top but not, clearly, bad either.
The Food Spread: A vast selection of options
Right, so, this is, basically, where Great Harbour, literally, wants to stand out. They have tons, tons, of dishes. From, actually, your typical Chinese food staples to, literally, things you wouldn’t expect, such as sushi, roast beef, and even, like, a carving station sometimes. If variety is, certainly, what you are really going for, Great Harbour Buffet has got that base covered, okay? You can, literally, find something for, like, everyone here, from adventurous eaters to picky children.
Seafood Sensations
The seafood, by the way, is, absolutely, a significant draw for many people, maybe. They usually have, certainly, a pretty good assortment of crab legs, mussels, shrimp, and various fish dishes. The freshness, I guess, can be a bit hit-or-miss, which is, honestly, not unexpected for a buffet, as a matter of fact, it is what it is. When it’s good, it’s, literally, pretty good; and that said, during some visits, you will discover that certain things sit out a bit longer.
Quality and Taste: a Mixed Bag
Now, when it comes to the actual taste of the food, it varies quite a bit. Certain items, like their dim sum or, say, the peking duck, are, arguably, pretty tasty. Then, right, you get, definitely, other dishes that are, just, kind of average. Honestly, that said, the desserts are pretty good, so I have no complains about that. For example, it is possible to find everything from cakes to fresh fruit, providing a sweet ending to your meal.
Service and Staff: Friendly Enough
The service is, really, quite decent, very, so. Staff are, arguably, pretty quick to clear your plates, usually, and they’re generally, very, reasonably polite. Don’t expect, possibly, overly personalized service, this is because, honestly, it is a buffet. However, honestly, they efficiently do their job. It is, typically, hard to fault them there.
Value for Money: Is it Worth the Price?
So, is Great Harbour, literally, worth your money? That, of course, truly depends. At a fixed price, you can fill your plate up to the skies. The buffet presents some appeal, honestly, especially if you’re looking to sample lots of different things or, actually, you are, say, feeding a group with mixed preferences. Though, when comparing that to a proper, like, restaurant, the grade of the food can, definitely, be less remarkable.
