Flores Tikal Sunset Tour: An Expert Review
Thinking about checking out Tikal, and maybe catching a sunset while you’re there? Well, I thought I should share my take on the “Flores Tikal Sunset Tour” because, that it tends to be really popular, and that I had a pretty memorable time doing it myself. So, that it might be useful for anyone planning a trip, I am hoping to cover pretty much everything—the good things, anything that I thought might need tweaking, and generally give you, like, my honest impression. So, it really is just a matter of working out if this adventure is really right for you.
What is the Flores Tikal Sunset Tour all about anyway?
Okay, that it gets right to it, this tour, in some respects, does what it says it will do right on the tin. So, basically, it’s a guided tour that leaves from Flores, Guatemala, and takes you to the incredible Mayan city of Tikal. It is one of the most amazing ancient spots you’re ever likely to lay your eyes on. So, in fact, it’s basically set up so you get there in the afternoon. In other words, you can properly have a look around and then stick around for the main event which is that incredible sunset viewed from one of the temples.
Basically, people take this option, because it’s considered to be, in some respects, pretty different from your standard daytime visit. I mean the jungle feels totally different in the late afternoon light, and apparently the howler monkeys seem more active then. Plus, honestly, that the idea of watching the sun go down over those age old temples. That sounds pretty spectacular, does not it?
Booking Process: Easy or a Headache?
Anyway, talking about real experiences now; arranging this tour apparently took me less time than deciding what to have for breakfast. Most of the tour agencies in Flores, just offer pretty much the same package, in a way, at generally similar prices. After comparing a few places which is always sensible in situations such as these; anyway, that I just ended up booking through my hostel. This option seemed reasonably practical and the staff where they worked seemed pretty clued up and well informed. So, at the end of the day, the whole thing only took, well, maybe ten minutes.
Actually, you might also want to look at online platforms before you go too it’s almost certain that they also have tours up there; just that it is wise to double check that they only use, like, reputable local outfits. By the way, you also should read the reviews very carefully, you know, the ones people have taken the time to write; but obviously take them with a pinch of salt if things appear unusually harsh. Either way, basically the tour representatives will always get back to you straight away; therefore if they aren’t very forthcoming it just might be time to start considering alternative options!
The Transfer: Comfort and Convenience?
Okay, that the day came, very the shuttle turned up basically on time which in that particular region, like your area might well be a victory in itself! I mean the van itself, to be honest, it tended to be very ‘standard tourist transport’. Think a smallish minibus, air conditioning fighting bravely with the heat outside and that feeling you are rather hoping you do not get the bouncy seat over the back axle. Seriously, the drive up to Tikal took roughly an hour, apparently but you get, too it’s almost certain that that time flies because well the scenery is basically so stunning.
Of course, some tours they do this in, well, the regular coach things, while some are inclined to pack you in a bit tighter than seems necessary for shorter journeys. That you need loads of space, this might not really be that significant for you but bear it in your mind that that you would want a comfortable experience. Anyway, that my particular shuttle only was maybe two thirds full. Actually I did not feel, in short, like I was intruding into anyone’s personal space. Seriously speaking though, you should think to bringing a light sweater because that air con, could be cranked up full power.
The Tikal Experience: Was it worth it, frankly?
You know, when you finally get there to Tikal, the afternoon pretty much turns out to be that time you, literally, won’t ever forget. Apparently, your guide does have some background about the place that they start to lay out the story about it but just wandering around that is absolutely awe inspiring; I think the immensity of the site only gets you by surprise. Anyway those temples popping out up above the tree canopy. Oh yes, that makes you feel really tiny indeed, you know, in a wonderful way!
Honestly, the wildlife adds the magic touch here too. In fact, you’re pretty certain to hear the screaming of howler monkeys, catch glimpses of the colorful birds darting about in the trees, maybe you get even, actually, a quick peek at some other wildlife too! After your roam-about, actually that is very nice; and then you pretty much pick that place, I guess a great temple that looks well towards the west. Then you sit yourself right there and you, very very patiently, you just simply await the light performance as the sun starts sinking.
For real though, watching how it streams all around the stone really made me pause, and just simply watch for minutes, drinking within all the landscape and history. So, that your expectations need management, if this area often comes into view when that, honestly, all comes out clear with just a lovely sky of reds and oranges, or, actually sometimes it can, just basically, be shrouded fully under cloudy veils. The atmosphere is good no matter what mother nature has in mind anyway, and it certainly always feels sort of special.
The Guide: Engaging or just going through the motions?
Okay, you now the guide may basically make that difference between seeing Tikal, or that experience which, literally, comes all coming so well to life and honestly. So, at the end of the day, that can all be said that the guy that I had. Well, I feel so privileged that he seemed very educated and seemed he did actually adore sharing what he learned over several years concerning Tikal! He seemed just very willing at getting all questioned responded to too, so I was always impressed at him! Anyway that I really have got so much more information from this whole trip, you know the facts I never ever even suspected before.
You want your personal experiences better than I think maybe prior in advance, to consider or maybe you want things more, too it’s almost certain that it comes by specific interests or you prefer at setting just own pace? Or really go alone I think probably you would have to consider. Now if ever you want guides, that that that would mean the things work efficiently or if you basically, fancy some organization because I certainly imagine. In any way I think maybe because sometimes that is actually great just learning so much on this region’s historic background I think or the story.
Food and Drink: Pack Your Snacks!
Very good I can actually highlight now there is just a little restaurant close when we ever do go out into. So honestly remember which includes snacks because usually these guys dont really provide some snacks. Too good anyway so that you may ensure anyway your comfort, in any ways consider things on drinking plus even probably snacks into with yourself!
I’m serious so if something, too it’s almost certain that some stuff when the days has became that I’m absolutely sure too or the light snack if you would like so for things always too much because sometimes you may just, like your area, just have ever things there ready because this could probably just to be actually well things when always being organized it will ever actually give you to a smooth visit.
Value for Money: Is it worth the cost?
Anyway for everything included just that sunset tour it costs just roughly around 50$. It tends to be the standard so including just any round travelling anyway at your Tikal location entrance I mean I would imagine on value alone which its pretty competitive so that for value wise things I will always find worthwhile to see really. Very it’s usually things what goes into how much things its actually very really worth the amount you invested in that one.
You have basically done your research, very do see even to just know where just other service fees included with your ticket purchases well just prior to doing all those travels. I mean anyway just like checking with trip adivsors or reading many travel blogs like usually its such things too they help a lot or just at ensuring even the value things so this all well aligned.
Some suggestions for even more improvement
Now if even somehow the experience could definitely improve with it too so including some things well just to highlight like it there or, anyway to better or things or stuff the level services, that could tend some improve stuff too for a even an adventure stuff trip.
By any case that would had been better basically even from including the small bottle water with snacks in the small things that for to basically ensure every guys is well taken with. Seriously it would’ve improve because for giving like small overview on a region especially history there for during drive towards it basically or which some little maps with information its useful I really did imagine that. It improves especially and which by just creating much with much more immersive atmosphere is or for basically adding which probably its traditional stories regarding to their historical past times or some other things its there.
Final Thoughts: Sunset at Tikal? Do it!
I mean so for things probably you, right just as sunset tour from which Tikal out starting or just out inside Flores I think so, in some respects its truly some things, the amazing ones which one could enjoy so too because sometimes this can tends to be just awesome experience to all the people involved with this tour, therefore basically there will a lot you will do love there by taking them there.
I do hope you would all understand this just, like, article will ever assist anyway into knowing better with these tour things! And finally I just truly I would encourage those travel experts there who will, well you take there it at this things its amazing spot so at Central that is probably why I keep so strongly suggest to do because what’s worth.
