Exploring the Real Modern Family Filming Locations: A Guide

Modern Family Filming Location

Modern Family, that wildly popular TV show that ran for eleven seasons, is almost as beloved for its relatable characters as for the often sunny Southern California backdrop. While the series, too it’s almost, relied heavily on sound stages, those exteriors really helped bring that world to life. You might be interested in tracking down the real houses and neighborhood spots from the show. Actually, quite a few super fans make special trips, that is, trips that recreate TV history in real life, and there are a few places you, just, like, simply must check out if you, basically, want to soak in the atmosphere.

The Dunphy House: A Slice of Suburban Life

Dunphy House Modern Family

Likely, one of the most recognizable spots is the Dunphy residence, or, rather, its exterior. Situated at 10336 Dunleer Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90064, this is that, very place where so many sitcom shenanigans unfolded. Just a heads up, though, it’s a private home. What you want to do is show respect when visiting. Very likely, you might not exactly be welcomed if you, I mean, attempt to recreate a scene from the show on their lawn. We have all been there! From afar, however, it’s a pretty cool place to see.

That home looks quite a bit more upscale than the average family digs, just to be real. Very, very cool. The owners seemingly capitalized on its fame, too, and I’m pretty sure I read that it’s worth a pretty penny, or maybe more than that! Anyhow, when you stand in front of it, you kind of, well, get that warm feeling of, you know, being part of the Dunphy family, very cool and special, actually. That said, you should manage your expectations somewhat; it isn’t really the whole house – a good portion was built and filmed in a studio, kind of like the fake-outs the pros are capable of producing in an imaginary and constructed place, such as Disney. In any case, so it is still nice to see the front of it.

The Pritchett-Delgado Residence: A Touch of Elegance

Pritchett-Delgado Modern Family

Another pretty famous house is the one where Jay and Gloria Pritchett, very rich and pretty happy, seemingly, lived with Manny. This home is, anyway, located at 121 S. Carmelina Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90049, so, basically, it offers a totally different vibe from the Dunphy home. Unlike that seemingly simple suburban home of the Dunphys, the Pritchett-Delgado residence suggests a bigger income and perhaps fancier tastes. The building looks, I mean, fantastic in the show.

Honestly, what you see from the outside seemingly reflects Jay’s personality. It has, I would say, a more modern design and gives off more of a “we’ve made it” kind of statement, quite different than the Dunphys’ middle class. This location provides just, like, another awesome photo opp. Similarly to the Dunphy residence, this building, right, is also somebody’s private place, so keep that, you know, in mind. Be, alright, a mindful visitor, take plenty of pictures, and do not trespass.

Country Clubs and Golf Courses: Jay’s Natural Habitat

Modern Family Country Club

As Jay Pritchett, that cool sitcom grandpa, seemingly loves spending his free time playing golf or hanging out, like, at his country club, multiple different country clubs and golf courses seemingly served as filming locations for various episodes. They used, perhaps, the greenery and fairways from that real country club world as, like, ideal spaces for Jay’s antics and moments of bonding with his family and friends, usually golfing. So, the locations add, sort of, a classy element to the setting of Modern Family. If you just visit LA, look, or rather consider those options.

Actually, several country clubs across the Los Angeles area were featured, you know, on the show, right, including the Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley. Honestly, even if you do not really play golf, these golf clubs still, literally, make interesting spots for fans of the program because you, like, remember iconic scenes, as I do, such as Phil trying to impress Jay on the course. Actually, take in the manicured lawns and, well, picturesque landscapes to, in some respects, understand what life is like for Jay when he’s away from that home.

Honestly, seeing these Modern Family spots in person will deepen that connection with a very heartwarming TV show that fans remember for years to come, quite understandably so, actually. When you are around LA, definitely map that little trip to experience that warm family energy firsthand, very wholesome I think. Don’t forget a camera, of course.
