Emerald Lake, Louise, Johnston Canyon: The Banff Tour That Wowed Me
Alright, so you’re thinking of checking out the Canadian Rockies, huh? I went on a tour covering Emerald Lake, Lake Louise, and Johnston Canyon, and I have to tell you, it was pretty amazing. This isn’t just another travel article; it’s really my honest experience. If you’re wondering whether or not it’s worth your hard-earned money, then keep reading.
First Stop: Mesmerizing Emerald Lake
Emerald Lake, so, wow, where do I even start? Its like, it really lives up to its name; that water has to be one of the prettiest shades of green I’ve ever seen. The way the sunlight reflects, that, well it, is that something else. It kind of feels like stepping into a postcard, very beautiful. There’s an option to rent a canoe there, too, it’s almost worth doing just to say you did. We didn’t have tons of time there on the tour, and it probably would’ve been great to wander a bit longer, yet what we saw was fantastic. Don’t forget your camera; you really want to snap a few pics to remember this location!
Lake Louise: More Than Just a Pretty Picture
Alright, now Lake Louise, right? Lake Louise is something else, alright? So everyone tells you how unreal it is, so yet seeing it for myself? The color is amazing, and those mountains, you know, standing around, they’re totally stunning. It gets pretty crowded, usually, especially if you head there during peak season. Anyway, that Chateau Lake Louise? It is beautiful, I guess. We actually had some time, it’s almost like we did to wander around the shoreline. If you’re able to make time for that hike toward the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse? It will give you the views. And seriously, wear decent shoes! But yeah, this lake? It should be on your list.
Johnston Canyon: Chasing Waterfalls
The final spot? So Johnston Canyon, naturally. After seeing all of those reflective lakes, it was fun, it really was, to go on an adventure into Johnston Canyon, and by adventure, what I really mean is taking in sights of multiple waterfalls. The Lower Falls is rather accessible, and usually, it gets fairly busy, while the Upper Falls, are a bit farther of a walk, usually the sights more than makeup for it. If you’re there in the colder months, you could potentially, it’s almost certain that you should give ice walking a chance. Either way, be sure to check the trail conditions before you are set to leave; that trip could potentially have tricky parts so be safe when you are exploring.
Was the Tour Worth It? My Honest Opinion
Basically, so was this tour to Emerald Lake, Louise, and Johnston Canyon a thumbs-up? Definitely. The scheduling worked out for our timeline; also, having someone take the lead on transportation really reduced stress. Basically, alright if you are the planning type that enjoys crafting every step of the trip? Doing things yourself, of course that might be right for you. However, that could also be great for someone trying to reduce difficulty, while also checking off the most major highlights.
