Egypt Private Tour: 5-Day Nile Cruise with Flights & Balloon Ride Review
Dreaming of Egypt? Yeah, I was, too. Then I found this “Egypt Private 5-Day Tour Nile Cruise Flights Balloon” package. Sounded almost too great, right? So, I thought I’d write something up to help anyone else wondering if it’s legit and, like, worth the money.
What’s Included in this Egypt Tour Package?
Okay, so, the basic pitch involves five days seeing what a lot of people would consider Egypt’s highlights. We’re talking Giza Pyramids, a Nile cruise, Luxor’s temples, and then a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. It comes with flights inside Egypt (super handy, very important) and private guides. To be real, that last thing was a game changer for me.
Here’s what this particular tour dishes out:
- Domestic flights (Cairo to Aswan, Luxor to Cairo)
- 4 Nights on a 5-star Nile Cruise (Aswan to Luxor)
- 2 Nights in Cairo hotel
- Giza Pyramids, Sphinx
- Egyptian Museum
- Khan el-Khalili bazaar
- Aswan High Dam & Philae Temple
- Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples
- Karnak & Luxor Temples
- Valley of the Kings hot air balloon ride
- Private Egyptologist guide
- Meals as specified (usually full board on the cruise)
My Experience: Day by Day
So, the trip kicked off in Cairo. Landing there is a bit of a shock to the system – very active, a bit dusty, very exciting. A rep from the tour met me right at the airport which, I will tell you, made things so easy. They helped me with my visa stuff and, like, whisked me off to the hotel.
Day 1: Cairo – Pyramids and Museums
The next day? Pyramids. What can I say, seeing them, actually being there, is almost unreal. The guide was extremely informed; like, he knew everything, honestly. He let us wander a little bit to get photos, yet kept a watchful eye on us at the same time, you see? The Egyptian Museum, you know, it has more artifacts than you can take in at one visit, frankly. That night, I slept soundly.
Day 2: Aswan – Nile Cruise Time!
Then, there was a super early flight down to Aswan. Aswan is noticeably calmer than Cairo, more of a relaxed, almost vacation type vibe. That afternoon we visited the Aswan High Dam (which is neat, you know, if you’re into engineering) and the Philae Temple. The Temple was moved to an island to save it from flooding – wild! Then it was onto the cruise boat. Which was fancy, I will say, the boat had a pool and everything.
Days 3-4: Nile Cruising – Temples and Relaxation
Days three and four were, like, spent cruising. We’d dock and visit temples – Kom Ombo and Edfu – they’re both awesome in their own way. I will tell you, our guide made these places come alive, almost. Then, when we were sailing, you could chill on deck, sip a drink, and, like, watch Egypt slide by. The food was a buffet, mostly, pretty tasty.
Day 5: Luxor – Balloons and Departure
Waking up before dawn for the hot air balloon ride, that didn’t seem fun at first. But, seriously, seeing the sun rise over the Valley of the Kings? Amazing! I had never been up in one of those things before, yet I felt remarkably secure. Later on, we checked out Karnak and Luxor Temples – huge, impressive. Then it was, so, back to Cairo for my flight home.
What I Really Enjoyed
There were seriously some high points:
- The Private Guide: You know, I couldn’t even imagine doing this without one now. He, basically, made the history make sense.
- The Nile Cruise: A super chill way to see a good bit of the country. It also provided, I felt, a glimpse into old-world charm.
- The Balloon Ride: A bit of a splurge, sure, but seriously worth it. The view is almost beyond description.
- No Wasted Time: They got me from place to place without me having to think, really. It ran quite smoothly.
Things to Consider
It’s worth keeping these points in your head too:
- Tipping: Tipping isn’t included. I will say, make a budget for this. Our guide and, you know, other people helping out along the way expect it.
- Extra Costs: Drinks on the cruise weren’t free. And, that one camel ride at the pyramids? Cost extra, for sure.
- The Bazaar: Khan el-Khalili is amazing, really, but you gotta be ready to haggle hard! And keep a very, very close hold of your things.
- Early Starts: Loads of early morning wake-up calls. Pack your energy!
Is This Tour Right for You?
Alright, so, who would dig this trip? I’d say, anyone who:
- Wants to see Egypt’s main sites without having to do any of the planning.
- Values having a guide who knows their stuff.
- Doesn’t mind, or maybe even enjoys, a touch of luxury (that cruise was really kinda lovely, actually).
- Is okay with a fairly busy schedule. You won’t have huge amounts of downtime.
If you’re more of a super independent backpacker type? It might not be the most ideal thing for you. Though I think it could still be useful as an intro.
Final Thoughts: Worth It?
I would really need to think about that some before writing that, really I would! Look, the “Egypt Private 5 Day Tour Nile Cruise Flights Balloon” package? It is not the cheapest way to see Egypt. Still, I believe it gave me a completely stress-free way to pack a serious amount into just five days. Seeing the big things was excellent, the guide was wonderful. For me? I’d say, it was very, very much worth the money. I had no regrets.
