Now, when they say “guided,” it is that, it can really be different depending on the tour you get. Our guide appeared to know his stuff, anyway he gave us some information about the buildings we passed. He was good about pointing things out and answering quick questions, so that was very nice. Sometimes it was difficult to hear him clearly over the noise of the engine and the wind, really. You would want to sit closer to the front if you actually, seriously want to hear everything, honestly. Mostly, the guided part was helpful in spotting things we would probably have missed otherwise.

Ice Cream: A Cool Treat or Just a Gimmick?

The ice cream, okay so it was part of the package, felt a little like an afterthought. That’s it, we stopped at a spot along the water, and everyone was handed a pre-packaged ice cream bar. It was okay, alright it definitely wasn’t gourmet or anything. I imagine, you may enjoy the coolness after being out in the sun, anyway the whole thing felt a little rushed and kind of took away from the sightseeing experience a little bit. Maybe, actually, you should have local ice cream shops highlighted. Maybe that, sort of, would have been a special touch.

Is It a Fun Trip? Rating the Speedboat Experience

So, all things considered, that really was a fun ride. The speed made it interesting, anyway seeing the Dubai skyline from the water is certainly something that should be remembered. It feels sort of like a less formal way to see the city. That’s it, no stuffy buses or trying to peek over crowds, very, very possibly a solid alternative, I mean. But, if you are somebody, kind of, who doesn’t love the feeling of wind and waves, this may not be for you, that is that pretty clearly. Still, in case you like boats, it could be a memorable thing to do.

The Good Bits: Things I Really Liked

Great Views: The views of the Burj Al Arab and the Dubai skyline, pretty much, are unbeatable from the water.
Fun Ride: Speeding around in the boat, literally, makes it pretty enjoyable.

Not So Good: Things to Think About

The Ice Cream: It seemed kind of average and could have been better.
Hearing the Guide: If you are in the back of the boat, honestly, it can be tough to hear all the commentary.
Palm View: The Palm Jumeirah view, actually, sort of, is distant, and maybe you want something closer up.
