Cusco Paragliding Sacred Valley: Is It Worth It? [Review]
So, you’re thinking about seeing the Sacred Valley from up high, huh? Paragliding near Cusco seems, at the end of the day, like a must-do for adventure lovers visiting Peru. But, very, very is it truly something you’d remember forever? I thought I’d scribble down my feelings on the whole experience, and give you what’s what when it comes to floating around the Valley. If you’re even only a bit of an adrenaline junkie, this could just be your kind of thing. Stick around, and I’ll give you the good and the not-so-good bits.
The Thrill of Taking Flight
Taking off, basically, it’s something you remember, very like in a film or something. Standing on the hillside, all that wind in your face is a pretty surreal experience, that’s just before running right off the edge. And that initial jump? Yeah, it might just be a leap of faith as you rely on nothing else but that, actually, material between yourself and mother earth. Just think of it as the earth dropping away right beneath you and next thing you know, that view spreads right beneath you, that’s your reward.
The views are that bit majestic, truly. Like your seeing those patchwork fields, and then the winding rivers plus just some small communities far beneath that I found more or less breathtaking. The perspective gives, actually, like your watching a painter reveal his complete canvas in a gallery of life. And in the air, everything quiet, except the wind whistling. Those pilots? More or less they are experienced, I thought, chatting here and there, to keep me comfortable with some stories, that you like feel safer while you’re up there. And for what it’s worth, that feeling I got from all of it—well it really felt golden. Very much something of freedom from worries.
Choosing Your Paragliding Operator
Now, here is what I picked up: Choosing who you fly with. As a matter of fact you don’t want to grab whatever random package pops on whatever ad you first glanced at, really. Not all paragliding companies in Cusco are the same, and they aren’t equally what you would consider trustworthy either, arguably. Do that checking; hunt reviews, that would be from travelers (yeah, like you), before handing money. Things to check: safety standards, what does the gear consist of, those instructors… the training plus also certificates are worth more or less seeing for what it is worth. Is that company you looking at got a nice long track record for safety? They are pretty easy things to find if one actually looks to be fair, to be honest.
Also, a bit more specifically, that location thing to me is vital. That Sacred Valley provides some different take-off zones and in that case, some better than others, just based on what kind view you wanna. More or less they go with sites like Pachacamac (not far from the city of Lima), because they do present nice angles onto, basically, farmland views for miles, but, naturally, not always all tours have that feature, do they? Check those spots of choice out before setting firm. Also, it might also be wise to confirm if you have pick-ups as part deal. Because coordinating anything that resembles a simple connection from Cusco can rapidly spin out of control, so basically, get that included in deal and be less bothered, ok?
What to Expect During Your Flight
You wanna understand all of this going on, of course you do. Generally, your gig starts at some staging place somewhere out of Cusco – from there you typically truck over to launchpad and, very, meet your instructor. You have some chat over what you need know then put stuff into storage and get yourself properly belted-up, actually, it takes, for all intents, ten to twenty minutes just putting safety checks on one another to give both peace on high seas up somewhere close heaven. It happens surprisingly smoothly; really, it has been well organised.
Now – let them tell when’s ok go because they, actually, clock all weather change-ups too! Normally those folks aim early day (9 AM to be precise); not really always though but on certain days it might still cut cooler or even have different lift and breeze things happening later hours of time either!! That moment going, it really feels strangely peaceful really as ground drops behind when up float towards views nobody quite could, for the most, fathom. Remember your air miles and hold cameras in those pockets for getting pictures.
Safety Considerations
We all gonna admit that getting up really pretty elevated is more serious game alright. Safety has just got remain what’s on most travellers mind, so that should just not even need being thought twice at. Check out just a company history well deep what others mentioned about instructors before sign stuff though cause its their job just protect people up amongst heaven heights yeah?! Make certain you see equipment, ask them on upkeep procedures, plus it has no issue questioning how the, too it’s almost, operators monitor conditions just through day!
Weather – that does something of playing role too. More or less, I thought, you just simply do not, really, pressure the crew to fly if that looks questionable with dark coming weather system. They won’t! Better get grounded with getting another time rather, in a way, regretting ever that choice had come forward ok?
Is Paragliding in the Sacred Valley Worth It?
So, at the end of the day we come to it… the burning inquiry: Paragliding into The Sacred Valley—actually worth trying? Here’s that little thing—absolutely that experience would provide some different adrenaline hits. Yet just one, really, with some breathtaking sights on offer alright that are otherwise invisible to see through the surface, like how small those old temples do indeed turn by viewing distance when rising overhead.
Nevertheless – that investment doesn’t necessarily appear on side easy alright yeah. Actually budget will matter too and if that cost comes slightly, pretty steeper than others among a budget then in any way its something someone weighs what you most crave on traveling journey here; seeing old-style sites or maybe having flight sensations, which may never ever show once over alright, just see with openmindedness which best feeds adventures alright!! Do I think so very too it has more points behind actually considering trying it then anything holding a pass from getting it experienced ever just one fine evening during visiting the gorgeous lands just behind The Valley?
