Crete, it’s very well known for its amazing views, rich history, and warm vibe. But you know, it can sometimes be quite a task to figure out the *best* way to really experience what this magical island offers. A Tuk Tuk tour, linking Malia Potamos Beach and the town of Sissi, that sounds different, right? I mean, it provides a way to experience the scenery and some of the local character. This is what I experienced, plus some advice for you if you’re thinking about giving it a shot.

What to Expect from Malia Potamos Beach

Malia Potamos Beach, it’s rather tucked away from all the busy areas, is one of those beaches that’s like a breath of fresh air. Think okay sand, is that blue water you dream of, and just a peaceful atmosphere. When I went, it really wasn’t packed, so too it was easy to just settle in and seriously relax. It seems lots of people enjoy walking along the beach too and looking at the wildlife, and in fact there are some birds there, plus all the usual sea creatures. It seems too it’s a fantastic spot for families; the water is that shallow that the kids could have a lot of fun while staying perfectly safe. All things considered, a visit to Malia Potamos Beach it’s a chance to switch off and experience the calmer, more authentic side of Crete.

The Sissi Tuk Tuk Tour Experience

The Tuk Tuk tour from Malia Potamos to Sissi is just something a bit different to the usual way to travel. Riding along in an open-air Tuk Tuk, that’s quite a cool method to see the local views and scenery. A lot of tour companies seem to offer this experience, so there’s quite a bit of variation in what you get, too it’s almost. The average trip to Sissi from this spot it tends to be about half an hour or so, providing sufficient opportunity to take everything in.

I chose a trip that was going via some of the back roads and smaller lanes to get to Sissi, so too it was a bit more of an experience than sticking just to the major routes. Doing this, you find yourself driving past olive groves and the odd vineyard and even tiny villages that just aren’t that visible if you stick to the usual tourist tracks. I believe our driver, he knew quite a lot about the local area, telling some fascinating stories about Cretan life.

I would hope to boost the local economy in this way, myself! In short it seems too I was doing a thing that made me pleased!
