Corfu Old Town Photoshoot: A Whirlwind Review of Flying Dresses

Alright, you, so you’re thinking, perhaps, of turning heads in Corfu Old Town with a flying dress photoshoot? That’s really amazing! I’m going to offer you some info about my recent experience with one, so you get a realistic view on whether or not it actually lives up to the Instagram hype. I’ll share the highs, the lows, and also the somewhat unexpectedly hilarious moments. Let’s just say, a windy day in Corfu plus a whole lot of fabric, well, it certainly gives you stories.

Dreaming of Corfu: Why a Flying Dress?

Why Corfu, actually? I think there is something wonderfully appealing about Corfu’s Old Town. It’s, very, that kind of place where the Venetian architecture meets sun-kissed shores, that also gives it this unique charm. So it’s super easy to daydream of flowing, colorful fabric against such an unforgettable backdrop, isn’t it? The images you see are simply wonderful, promising a certain elegance and a tangible sense of magic. I, like your very own you, actually envisioned myself gliding along the cobblestone streets, somewhat feeling like a modern-day goddess, maybe a Greek one, naturally. I think it’s, very, that this photoshoot feels a bit different from those vacation snapshots, and more like creating real art that you can actually keep. It’s meant to turn into a cherished memory that’s a bit unique from the norm.

Picking a Package: What Are My Choices?

Corfu photoshoot packages

Now, the somewhat difficult bit: choosing from the almost never-ending number of packages. So there is quite a difference, just so you know, between the super basic options, you know, the kind that offers just one dress and a quick session around the Liston, or, you know, really lavish experiences with a variety of locations, dress changes, also a personal assistant, a professional makeup, plus maybe hair styling. What’s, really, important here is thinking, actually, about your goals, right? Are, very, you looking for just a handful of iconic shots for Instagram, or might be you hoping for a full-on portfolio that captures every side of your vacation? So I would carefully look into all the little details like the session length, the number of edited photos you get, and also any extra charges for things like extra locations or, you know, plus-ones.

In some respects, my chosen package landed in that happy middle ground. So I selected something, that, included one dress choice, approximately one hour of shooting at two Old Town spots, along with, maybe, fifteen professionally edited images. That, sort of, gave me enough variety while also remaining budget-friendly, honestly. I didn’t select hair and makeup, more or less, which in hindsight I kind of wished I had splurged a bit more on.

Dress to Impress: Selecting “The One”

Oh, deciding on the dress! It’s, typically, so much fun, yet kind of hard! Most studios actually show you a big collection of dresses that come in various colors and also designs. From rich, vibrant reds, actually, you know, those that dramatically pop against Corfu’s sandstone buildings, and also to those calming, flowing blues and whites that sort of, very, echo the sea. What’s quite cool is that dress shapes do actually differ, like your classic flowing style with an open front is quite famous because of how easy it is to manage that wind-blown effect. But, for instance, maybe, some dresses come complete with longer trains for an even more dramatic look.

I was, maybe, going for that bold color I mentioned. Something that might be strikingly different than, you know, the landscape, really. I landed on this beautiful, intense fuchsia dress with a super long train. The moment I put it on, I honestly felt really excited about it. Actually, I should note that flying dresses, very, rarely feel exactly like putting on clothing from your own wardrobe. Expect quite a bit of adjusting, someone to help you arrange everything. The reality is they are pieces, too it’s almost, of art meant, certainly, to look great in pictures, basically.

Strike a Pose: The Photoshoot Experience

Corfu photoshoot results

Alright, so I found myself out in Corfu Old Town ready to actually bring the vision to life. One of the biggest details that is seemingly glossed over is the wind, for example. Corfu gets rather windy! So it, arguably, can either become your closest friend or your most annoying enemy during this photoshoot. Of course, on my shoot day, it was kind of determined to be mischievous, you know. Holding onto the dress was an ongoing battle! Then again, I believe that it actually lead to some quite candid, also rather hilarious moments that the photographer fortunately captured, still. The pro? Well, the images had a touch of drama added to them!

Something else I think you might want to prepare for is the audience, naturally. Expect folks to stop and stare! Corfu Old Town is actually full of folks, especially when the cruise ships are in. So a fair amount of people did stop to watch the process, and a handful even took their own sneaky photographs, anyway. If, actually, you’re comfortable with attracting attention, it could actually add something even more fun to the whole experience! But should you get camera shy easily, well, that you might want to think, maybe, about shooting at a much quieter part of the day.

My photographer knew so many fantastic shooting spots, by the way. We began near the Old Fortress with, you know, breathtaking sea views, then headed into some of the quieter backstreets where all of the classic architecture definitely came to the foreground. Having somebody know the town really changed things because they helped skip all the crowded areas and they really, too it’s almost, knew where the perfect sunlight could be located at that hour, more or less.

The Final Verdict: Was It Worth It?

You know, you may wonder was battling the wind or feeling everyone’s glances worth everything? Completely, basically. When I finally actually got those photos back, I could actually not stop smiling. So they really did capture, certainly, that magic I had been hoping for when first selecting the flying dress photoshoot. The colors appeared vibrant, the settings were absolutely stunning, plus each image just felt rather special. It really, too it’s almost, feels like owning some memento far beyond all the souvenirs I could have acquired, arguably.

Of course, it wasn’t perfect. If I could do things again, maybe, I’d consider splurging more on the makeup and actually practice different poses ahead, so things might have flowed more seamlessly, that, seemingly. Still, all those slight imperfections became the character of this experience, and maybe the somewhat clumsy moments led to some laughter that is now actually permanently associated with all of those memories, might be. I feel as though that’s rather special. If you are headed for Corfu plus want a bit of a distinctive keepsake, also something rather glamorous to remember your time, a flying dress photoshoot might be perfect for you, honestly.
