Okay, so you’re thinking of hitting up Chiang Mai and maybe getting a bit off the normal tourist path? Doing an ATV adventure sounds appealing, too, and I’m here to tell you about my experience with the Chiang Mai ATV Adrenaline Blast run by Spartan Motorsport. That said, hopefully, it’ll assist you in working out if this activity is totally for you.

Setting stuff up can be a headache sometimes, but actually booking with Spartan Motorsport? Pretty straightforward, it was. Pretty handy stuff they were telling me and that, if you’ve not ridden one previously.

The Adrenaline Blast Experience: Trails and Terrain

The Adrenaline Blast? More or less, it lives up to its name. Expect the trails and stuff! They throw basically all sorts at you: dirt tracks, rocky paths, muddy puddles you splash through, and bits along hillsides through jungle. That’s really neat! Now, what really stood out, too, is that scenic quality of all these places. Think, sort of like, fantastic jungle areas; getting glimpses into Thai plant life, and even catching an occasional peek at farms and houses way outside of the tourist locations.

Be mindful, anyway: the tracks get a little bit intense. Not super hard, mind, still – just be expecting a good workout and, that too it’s maybe not suitable for someone completely out of shape, or someone not expecting a few knocks and that. That also said, these ATVs are pretty sturdy and can deal with a fair bit of battering, alright? As long as you are doing stuff by the guide’s, sort of like, directions, you would be very okay.

The Guides: Knowledge and Support

Alright, the guides at Spartan are pretty essential. Actually, these local boys and girls seem to really get, like, what they’re up to, and they, in some respects, have your safety first. It was kind of reassuring they know that land backward. They keep a decent pace, and are quite considerate in checking all these others in your group don’t become a burden on you – very, very, good show of respect I feel. They are, also, very clued-up on local wildlife and any place of significance in the area, so you’ll likely come away having figured out plenty of local information while burning gasoline.

ATV Quality and Maintenance

Let’s be frank, sometimes activity equipment can look a little bit questionable around here in South East Asia, alright? However, Spartan looks after their equipment fairly well. The ATVs appear like they’re well maintained, plus they seem powerful enough for dealing with the varied ground types and terrain that’s thrown at them. Okay, you aren’t driving a brand spanking new machine, and I felt at peace with those guys looking after these automobiles.

Value for Money

So, is the Adrenaline Blast run worth the cost? In my view, yep. More or less, you are paying for several hours’ worth of entertainment and something very interesting from the run-of-the-mill trips available everywhere. Actually, when thinking of, like, that safety, support and the level of care provided? Looks pretty reasonably costed that does.

What Could Be Improved

There isn’t much really to criticise here, but arguably, it could get better like most things. Maybe have refreshments provided at one time in the route would enhance the experience a bit. More so if the Chiang Mai temperature is soaring, like it seems to always be!

Final Verdict

To be real? If you’re after something intense whilst in Chiang Mai, particularly in case you are fairly, pretty happy doing stuff with vehicles, Spartan Motorsport’s Adrenaline Blast must probably fit the bill. Decent equipment, sound safety procedures and capable staff – I’m confident suggesting them to everyone looking for some proper excitement. Anyway, make certain you check climate predictions, that you are dressed suitably, and that you are carrying insurance if, very, unluckily, it goes south! Enjoy.
