Walking through, in a way, the terraces, you just can’t help being very stunned by, you know, the skill and tradition which shaped this landscape for literally centuries. I took my time and wandered, taking loads of photos, and chatting with some of those local farmers; getting a real insight into just how they grow rice and their own way of life. Keep in your mind that, just a little, the pathways, well, they can be quite narrow and muddy, and because of this good walking shoes might be beneficial. In addition to the breathtaking views, a lot of people will tell you that Tegallalang, too, is known for its rather picturesque swings; they’re a fun experience, it’s almost like they give you a view like you’ve never seen before.

Balinese Temples: Culture and Spirituality
