Amorgos Hiking Review: Krikelos Ridge & Lunch

So, you know, Amorgos is this Greek island that just kind of pulls you in, right? And when you’re thinking of experiencing the real heart of it, getting up on Mount Krikelos? Well, that’s almost an absolute must-do. Now, I want to tell you all about a pretty fantastic hiking tour I took there, where you go along the ridges and also get a tasty lunch as a reward. That said, this isn’t just some walk; it’s seriously an adventure that really lets you get a feel for what Amorgos is all about. It’s pretty important to know what you’re signing up for, that’s why I think it’s worth it to really dig into this.

What to Anticipate on the Krikelos Hike

Okay, so, first off, this hike? Very beautiful, seriously. What’s pretty great about it is, it starts you off in a sweet small village, it kind of sets the scene right away, right? From there? Well, almost immediately, you start to climb, and let me tell you, that incline is something! But you get rewarded, right? That view keeps getting better, very beautiful sweeping vistas across the island. You know, you hike up, passing these ancient ruins, that is truly incredible! Very special way to sort of touch history, you know?

Now, very important thing to keep in mind, there are places where the path is a little, maybe just a little rugged. You see, the terrain can be a bit rocky, and certain spots might get your heart racing. So, if you’re a very new hiker, this one? It might be a bit much for your first ever big hike. If you’ve hiked before, you’ll probably think it’s awesome, almost the best, seriously. The whole loop is designed very well to bring you back down the mountain and gives you like, great satisfaction as you finish. Seeing where you started is pretty spectacular. You have accomplished something pretty remarkable.

The Views, so Unbelievable, Seriously

The views? Oh my gosh, those are, that, like that’s why you’d endure every single step! Really, seriously breathtaking views stretching out over the Aegean. Looking out, seeing the water meet the sky like that, might be the absolute best thing in the world. Then when you look inland, you get this rolling land of Amorgos’s countryside. You can see like, every single thing. The little white villages sprinkled everywhere. It really gives you some, very cool perspective of how folks make a life out here, you know?

Apparently, every turn that you take on the trail, offers like, these picture-perfect moments. That clear, Greek light just kind of transforms everything it touches. So what you end up having is this experience of non stop spectacular things that you will never ever forget, not even almost. One thing, when you see a photo on your phone that you have taken, its pretty special because that photo is seriously spectacular too, because, it truly captures your memory! So it’s important, that you take your camera!

About that Delicious Lunch

So, here’s a sweet part, yeah? In the middle of all this effort, very nice Greek lunch awaits. It’s almost always served up in some cozy spot where the view is nice. Is that right? Local foods that you get is like tasting the island itself. Everything tastes fresher when you’re sitting outside with great people that are your hiking buddies, by the way, under that warm Greek sun. Everything just sort of tastes better. Things that you may never try ever, taste so awesome and that includes olives, bread and dips!

Very interesting to really sit there, swap stories, all of the things of that nature, yeah? Because that time really feels more or less a highlight to it, that time sitting there together. Because what you have is something that isn’t available anywhere. Well, because its Amorgos you have something from that specific Greek experience and all the goodness that Greece always brings to travel.

How to Prepare for the Trek

Ok, this isn’t almost a casual stroll in the park. This particular trek takes some kind of planning and knowing. I would suggest a little, just a little pre-trip workout, yeah? Just because getting used to walking uphill will very much save you a lot of soreness and it actually may cause that next beer on that little cute balcony where your Greek home stay resides, it may cause that very important beer to taste slightly better. And it may. Who knows.

Basically what you are looking to do, is, actually maybe, looking at some of the key items for that walk. Walking shoes or boots would almost be an actual necessity. The kind of shoes that are used by you, may almost depend of the time of the year that it is right now. Bringing your water bottle is important, obviously the hike itself, and if you think about the beautiful hot Greek sun, that adds a thing or two on why the bottle is crucial. The daypack with a sunscreen in it is a big deal as well and is something that is smart. You will always enjoy wearing it, not only for its protection to skin and the sun. Bringing a snack on top is pretty fantastic. And I have already alluded to this, right? Bring the Camera or phone!

When thinking of going to any of the trails like that in Amorgos and Krikelos mountain and any other part in Amorgos? So that what you’re doing is that you would almost consult to weather that is potentially available, right. So what could almost occur in some cases would actually almost let you know what is really truly needed, alright! In any ways? Don’t stress yourself too much! This is Amorgos! Everyone that ends up here will certainly be happy, and actually some might almost say it will be the thing to ever make them feel whole. Like very very completely and happy! That’s what I am suggesting!

The Krikelos Hike: Is it For You?

Alright, so, let’s be very clear here, this Krikelos hike alongside the ridgeline isn’t for everyone, I’ll suggest, I want to almost point it out right now. Very physically talking. When thinking about health, talking physical conditioning. This tour can bring pretty beautiful problems because if its slightly a thing that may challenge yourself just only, well I mean you will never see all the sights! It can, truly. Like not being the very most spectacular thing in the entire thing!

What is pretty exciting would be something for the traveler that might enjoy and relish? Truly it does help! But because everything helps because those beautiful views that are quite amazing? So, very simply this trek? This experience! This incredible moment is almost a perfect pick for everyone! The very soul seekers, nature’s best followers, travelers or friends and individuals with just an absolute heart for some little awesome adventures! What would it give to them? Oh what it would gift them. Amorgos.

Well so so you’ve had it set with all of these little crazy cool facts and so much about all of these stories from me or you, I may assume I’m saying right! Now you maybe wonder where to begin? That might almost depend depending if its something depending to your budget there!

Of Course there is a point! It’s extremely nice thinking the best period. Because you may know if its Spring and Fall so those almost show, if the very ideal ones so those maybe show their reasons that the temperatures in this country that its truly extremely extremely wonderful but they show, well these specific reasons that the paths could very really may get some of things or all to where they would almost say its spectacular.

This hike? Along the ridges of Mount Krikelos together with its lovely gorgeous wonderful Amorgos’s hike? It gives something incredibly crazy in a heart for what adventure looks like! What happens together and the incredible scenery that one shows, well and not all too all far! When you do all your important and smart items to put yourself as a little preparation what I am saying. It might all let it go that might make it the right decision and so! In the most and all complete crazy amazing amazing amazing heart!
