Seeing the sunset as you’re, like, perched on top of a camel? In a way, it’s pretty magical, honestly. The light does tend to paint the sky in such warm shades, and it’s quite lovely, you know? If you’re anything like me, arguably, you’ll probably be snapping tons of pictures! The camels themselves, at least, seem fairly well taken care of. The guides treat them with what I would consider respect. Actually, I found that quite comforting to witness, because, honestly, the animal’s wellbeing matters, definitely.

The BBQ Dinner: A Taste of Morocco

The BBQ dinner tends to be where this experience moves beyond the just very good, in my opinion. So, after your camel adventure, they, too, will usually lead you to a tent, that’s really quite traditionally decorated. When I say traditionally decorated, usually, it’s with colorful cushions and rugs and things. So, it does give you a feel for Moroccan hospitality. That’s a really good point to notice.

As a matter of fact, the food is, honestly, quite a spread, really. First, you know, they often serve you classic Moroccan dishes. Those dishes could be tagine, couscous, and various grilled meats. So, there’s, typically, something for everyone, more or less. Now, arguably, it is not a five-star dining experience, really. Though the flavors can be, in a way, wonderfully authentic and really hearty too. It tends to be a pretty generous serving, anyway. So, there’s very little chance that you’ll go away hungry, usually.

During the dinner, there’s, actually, typically entertainment. So, usually you’ll find traditional music and maybe even some belly dancing. Seeing the locals performing those performances tends to add to the festive atmosphere, it seems to. As I was saying, it’s a nice way to immerse yourself a little bit in the Moroccan culture, virtually.

The Transfer: Getting To and From the Fun

The transfer is a super convenient part of the whole package, typically. Usually, they pick you up from your hotel in Agadir. That way you won’t have to fret about finding a taxi. It is fairly nice, honestly, to have that door-to-door type service, because, well, nobody wants to stress about that sort of logistical issue, literally.

Depending on where your hotel is, actually, the drive to the camel riding spot can be a little long. Although, you do often get to see some of the Agadir countryside on the way. So, usually that is fairly interesting. Usually, the vehicles tend to be reasonably comfortable, more or less. Most times, they’re air-conditioned too. Now, there has been one time when, for example, I was squished in a minibus with quite a lot of other people. Therefore, it really wasn’t the most comfortable experience. However, the transfers often run smoothly, alright. They definitely add a big level of convenience to the tour, at the end of the day.

Things I Loved (and a Few Things to Consider)

So, let’s quickly recap the really good things, should we? The sunset camel ride tends to be a total highlight. It’s honestly hard to top. Getting to see the sun dip below the horizon while riding a camel? That is definitely an experience to treasure, I am pretty sure. Also, the BBQ dinner does tend to offer a fantastic taste of local cuisine and culture, and the convenience of the transfers makes, usually, the whole excursion worry-free.

Of course, as I was saying, nothing is absolutely perfect. First, make sure to bring some sunscreen and maybe even a hat. It is often quite strong, the sun. Especially if you are doing this during the warmer months, more or less. Secondly, arguably, it might be useful to know that, the seating at the dinner can sometimes get a little crowded. So, If you are someone who really values having loads of personal space? In a way, that could be slightly uncomfortable for you.

So, for the animal lovers amongst us, maybe consider checking the camels’ living condition when you come to riding them? Just a quick thing that you need to do! Finally, while the entertainment usually provided is good, still, you might not always get something spectacular, that is true. I am not putting anyone off, just keeping things a little objective for you. That way you can be assured your booking is not falsely lead or anything!

At the end of the day, I honestly felt that the Agadir Sunset Camel Ride with BBQ Dinner and Transfer provides a fairly unique and quite enjoyable experience. If you’re up for trying out something very different from simply sitting at your hotel by the pool, then it really is very worth it. Honestly, it gives you a great taste of Moroccan culture, and too, it’s done in a really convenient manner.
