Agadir Camel Ride Review: Tea & BBQ Dinner – Is It Worth It?

Thinking about checking out the Agadir camel ride with the tea and BBQ dinner? Well, you’re not the only one. Many folks visiting Agadir want that iconic Moroccan experience, something that blends the calmness of the desert with a bit of local flavor. You know, those tours where the snapshots online just look too good to be true? That’s the very reason I went to check it out, basically to see if it lives up to the promotion.

What’s the Big Deal About an Agadir Camel Ride Anyway?

So, why a camel ride? Quite apart from being a super unique experience, riding a camel connects you to the heart of Moroccan culture. Camels, rather these majestic “ships of the desert,” were long-time transportation for nomadic peoples and also traders for centuries. You see, an Agadir camel ride isn’t just an activity, yet it’s also this kind of nod to a way of life. And getting to take pleasure in some local tea, and the aroma of a BBQ, right after? Seems like the perfect cultural dip.

The Ride: A Wobbly Start But Smooth Sailing (Mostly)

camel ride experience

Okay, so mounting the camel is slightly like climbing onto a somewhat tipsy tower. It’s, like, all ungainly limbs, as the camel does its thing getting up, so, hold on tight! Still, once you are up there, you almost immediately get this gently swaying motion, which honestly is fairly relaxing. I mean, my ride went through some dunes just near Agadir – didn’t quite hit a sweeping Sahara, but that, yet it gave me a pleasant taster. That it’s almost like being up high gives you, that kind of special way to appreciate the landscape, is that. You know, the views that are stretching out further than normal just seem, very striking, it is. If I had to give a word about the camels themselves: well, the creatures seemed to be well taken care of, very chill, actually. The guides, so, they clearly respected the animals, and as a matter of fact gave clear instructions to ensure that us tourists did too.

Mint Tea Magic in the Moroccan Sun

Seriously, can one visit Morocco, but not drink the mint tea? Arguably not, honestly. Soon after the ride, there’s nothing quite like relaxing with that glass of sweet, minty tea. I had mine in this beautiful tent, full of patterns and vibrant colors. It was also good to get talking with other tourists, swapping stories about their trip highlights, and you know, the guide filled us in on the tea traditions, which were so very nice. Now that I remember, sipping the tea, just that bit of a breather, was certainly this little magical break ahead of dinner.

BBQ Under the Stars: How Good Was It?

Oh, the BBQ, right? It was honestly one of the best meals I had in Agadir, basically during the whole visit, actually. You could smell that grilling meat getting closer before you saw it: those rich spices, right, cooking over coals, so that’s almost an experience itself. Then it turns out it was really tasty: plenty of grilled meats, salads filled with different flavors, and classic Moroccan sides. Really there was, for absolutely everybody, enough, actually and certainly a tasty choice. So, yet I must say that dining under the stars really makes this food even better! Just a perfect experience!

What’s Involved on this Trip?

So, it tends to begin usually in the afternoon. First you are grabbed out of the hotel, so that’s always comfortable, but it might depend on the company providing the trip. The place from where we started the camel ride wasn’t that distant, almost outside of Agadir, that, so, too it didn’t take ages to get there. On the whole the camel riding lasted an hour or, pretty close. Mint tea gets given once you’re done riding, still, yet that bit is definitely weather dependent – would be pretty bad when there’s strong sun! By then, they start lighting the BBQ when twilight begins, but eating as such normally gets started as soon as it gets darker. So that might all be over at roughly 9 or 10 pm.

Is This Thing Worth the Price?

So, you get what you pay for. Honestly the prices vary but if you discover it at less than fifty euros, it almost sounds extremely suspicious! You are not paying solely just for the camel trip, that’s what people may well forget. You do get regional transport, the chance to take pictures with camels (which is honestly nice) and then free tea and quite enough BBQ so it’s fine value! So too keep that in mind: lots of people rely on the tourist industry to get money so too supporting these kind of things is genuinely nice. If you are planning the whole budget plan I might go on and say, that you could, maybe easily do that with a backpacker style budget, potentially. In this case I probably, if pressed, would make an effort at this, so it can work.

Some Tips and Considerations

Remember, okay, these little hacks. Put sunscreen on a great deal! Being burnt just plain makes riding uncomfortable. Still be very respectful with the animals by acting very nicely. And, that if, just maybe, you’re someone with a dislike to any animal you do need to consider it before attending it. When considering the time: twilight or sunsets are obviously best times to get going on the ride! Taking photographs with the sun going down behind you is perfect. Oh yes…and carry some local currency along. Perhaps you may well just feel thankful for something at the last moment to give those working there! It would usually mean a lot!

Other Camel Trip Packages?

Of course, they are around. Very close and near Agadir the camel trip on the beach may be worth looking. Rather you love camels, beach scenery instead, you’re a pretty very different cat for travel you! Otherwise the only proper choice almost is spending cash upon trips a long way into the Sahara. But that may definitely be worth going all over to experience for all those wanting what a classic sand-based experience provides! I mean there really is always one choice somewhere whatever individuals prefer.

Overall: Did This Camel Ride Impress Me?

Totally! Yes, I would happily give a thumbs-up on the Agadir camel riding combined to that of BBQ experience. Yet there can of course, be always things needing more work… Still for value and fun it makes almost all travellers pretty thankful to visit and see, arguably. The camel part really got my attention – there’s clearly very little replacing travelling on back whilst enjoying that fantastic sunset. A moment indeed so Moroccan I will never very soon forget… Why don’t people seek experiences instead?! You, like, really cannot get what these people are saying but travelling to locations could assist, right? Perhaps those kind of insights makes it, in this situation, even worth seeing!
