Agadir Camel Ride Review: Sunset & Moroccan Dinner Magic

So, you know, when traveling, I am like your travel advisor. When seeing some place interesting or fun, and the chance of a memory presents itself, I check it out. Like, a camel ride while checking out the sun go down, that’s a bit of fun that turns into a cool story, really. I mean, who wouldn’t love riding a camel on vacation as that giant orange orb drops down past the horizon, very cinematic? This Agadir camel ride, too, included a Moroccan dinner with transportation, so I didn’t have to think about where to eat. So that is always a very good thing! I recently went ahead and checked out this excursion, and, like, here is the lowdown for anyone thinking of giving it a go.

What to Expect from the Agadir Sunset Camel Ride

The sunset camel ride in Agadir isn’t like riding through the Sahara; more like it is near Agadir’s Souss river. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of sand still, so it checks all the right boxes for the right memories, in my experience. It kicks off with a pick-up from your place of lodging – a total must for any good tour if you ask me. So then you drive a short distance outside of Agadir where, after that, you meet the camels and, of course, the guides, who, very interestingly, were super helpful.

When atop the camel, the ride is, actually, just a chill jaunt through the sand dunes; just what I like and that sort of thing, more or less. The pace is gentle; after all, you are looking at the view and relaxing, so too is everyone else on your tour; it feels nice and soothing. They actually stop for those postcard moments. Then you have opportunities to snap a few memorable photographs of the experience. So it’s almost great how, for people concerned about safety, it’s totally fine! I actually saw people from like eight years old up to grandmothers out there having an excellent time. After that, everyone piled off the camels, and we went onward toward that dinner, smelling some great fragrances the entire way.

The Moroccan Dinner: A Taste of Morocco

So, the Moroccan dinner, really, is actually like the perfect way to end the camel riding thing; as a matter of fact, it actually is just what you would imagine. Tents, cushions, the night air getting slightly chilled as the sun slips behind the mountains, actually great if you are out there on a romantic night for a pair. I am going to write more about that, actually!

First comes mint tea, naturally. If I understand correctly, Morocco hands this out to everyone; it’s just how they say, so too, “Welcome!” If mint tea doesn’t grab your attention, it’s often brewed sweet and full of fresh mint, after that, you can drink lots of it; believe me! Following the tea, the feast showed up; that is right it begins. I tried couscous and tagine and, honestly, several other great items. Most of them, I guess, featured local spices. To be honest, if your palate is feeling adventurous, I strongly suggest you attempt all of them. Finally, a selection of regional pastries arrived; very welcome too, since you use lots of salt on the main course! After that, as everyone enjoyed the sugary pastries, local musicians actually played music with regional instruments, which was so much fun. Some travelers actually danced with them a bit; it seems a wonderful, yet authentic moment. After the fun came to an end, that is that the drivers appear to load us up for the trip back to the lodging location.

What I Enjoyed Most About the Experience

What did I, very personally, appreciate most, yet? The sunset, probably; of course, the food really made me content! That glowing sun sinking behind the dunes – the image is forever marked in the mind. So that part you have to do!

Also, really, I am going to say that, after that, the dinner surprised me, really. I came more for the camel thing but, actually, the tastes, sounds, and scents of that tent impressed me in the greatest ways, more or less. When that experience has an element of real, actual authenticity, you have made an unforgettable experience for yourself! And yet there you were. Like I touched upon already, too, that Moroccan mint tea is quite welcoming, really, and the people will attempt to get you a second, third, and sometimes, so, too fourth helping! All the food tasted delicious; trust me that all of you on your trip will discover one item on your Moroccan food tasting list.

For my money, you will probably recall the food in better terms! In some respects, what surprised me most was the overall friendliness. From the dudes leading the camels to those that provided us the food at the tent, actually, they greeted everyone, actually, very respectfully. Those men showed themselves actually proud of their homeland’s heritage, so it meant something to them that a person from distant shores comes out to find something fun, honestly. Now, if this kind of outing wasn’t a business, that is the precise feeling you need out of a “travel moment”; so don’t overlook that.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Camel Ride

First, you should see how the weather shapes up, really. If the tour says “sunset,” they are trying to get out there as the sun slides towards the ground to grab all those photograph moments that I previously mentioned! So then that evening tends to be fairly cold and can drop fast! That, too, also assumes your camel safari is, yet, scheduled between the Fall through Spring times.

So, you may want to bring something to go over your arms, shoulders and the like! You can probably have this conversation beforehand to nail all that kind of stuff down! And yet be careful because the temperature, conversely, could, actually, have been quite scorching at noon and then later shift after the sun is just gone; that would have a large impact upon what you need with you on that fun camel adventure!

When aboard a camel, that is that one can bounce, you know! Now that most tours don’t move rapidly, be certain you maintain a powerful grasp. Really. I personally would not need somebody pitching themselves forward. If, very admittedly, that is actually a worry of yours, tell the local expert; they will manage that for you. That also should go unsaid. You would rather apply sunscreen. The African sun pounds straight upon the flesh even while clouds stay nearby. Lastly, offer the guides a small monetary “thank you.” Like with anyone laboring in customer service, it is appropriate, honestly, to give thanks for something effectively executed, but just be cautious not to present more than about 10% or so of your fee, that should be fine.

Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?

The Agadir sunset camel ride with dinner is really a superb way to absorb the vibe of Morocco, you know. In my view, there are many travel tours where a person feels like someone pulled the wool right over their eyes with phony cultural offerings; more or less, this is quite distinct, right. If I had the option, so too would I be doing this stuff again with a small cluster of my family or with a “better half” by my side, or possibly a pair of people for a twice-dating situation. Just, it almost doesn’t feel too cheesy; the opposite of any of these types of tourism events is so welcoming of individuals that just might not stay comfortable usually taking some chances.
The value for dollar looks alright to me, and is certainly a story people will love to listen to back home!
