I’m happy to report that I am able to connect a little bit with what’s gone on to shape Florentine identity. Accademia Gallery: Encountering David

Nothing really prepares somebody for just how imposing this sculpture really is. And there you will stand and admire it.
Marco, he spent time to point out all the subtle things and the amazing skills that Michelangelo employed, with the tension in the muscles shown so real. When you see David up close, you can see he actually is like a symbol showing human perfection, from back during the Renaissance period. Looking at other artwork displayed around the gallery, those really seemed so relevant to that main theme of Florentine artistic accomplishment that had its start so long ago.
