Khao Sok Treehouse Trip Review: Meals & Jungle Nights

Thinking about getting away for a bit and heading into Khao Sok National Park for an overnight treehouse stay? Like your thinking. So, that is what I did, and here is my take on this kinda cool getaway, meals included and all. You may or may not already be clued-up about Khao Sok. Basically, this national park, is that gem of southern Thailand, it features dense jungle, old limestone cliffs, and a big, shiny lake right at its heart. But is it the place for you?

Booking the Treehouse Stay

Booking Treehouse

There are numerous places where you might actually book one of these treehouse trips; you get travel agencies, tour operators you come across, and of course, everything’s on the internet these days. So, that’s the one I did. My opinion? Read through reviews and so forth before you make that reservation button press. So, too it’s nearly about what others share concerning their adventures. Doing a bit of that kind of can give anyone a better sense regarding just exactly what one can expect.

Actually, there are various options, depending on just how swanky or basic you really wanna go with these places. Typically, prices do tend to include the stay itself, some meals (we get into the specifics on this stuff in a little bit), and quite possibly, transport to and fro. Very important? Absolutely!

First Impressions and Check-In

Treehouse Check-In

So, you turn up and what is that like, very? It’s almost as you are going to be driving away a small way from the central hustle and bustle; things turn extremely green; so, your blood pressure might well drop just a little. Check-in might be chilled, almost Thailand-style chilled – basically, everyone’s easy-going. Staff seem really helpful. They guide you to what is likely your treehouse, going over all the basics.

The treehouses themselves, like, they’re as varied as can be. You could well find yourself in something seriously rustic, you know, only just a bit more complicated than what the Swiss Family Robinson had; otherwise, one could possibly be in a pretty luxurious thing complete, with like air con. That might depend on just how many greenbacks were exchanged during the booking process. In that respect, take some pictures – bragging rights, so!

A Look at the Treehouse

You got that sense concerning rustic meets comfy, then you are in the proper frame of thought. My treehouse, in particular, featured what anyone might call straightforward furnishings. Beds were clean, there’s too a mosquito net (you’re in a jungle after all, innit?). Then, there’s a toilet. Is that crucial? Actually, yes. So, is it an ensuite? Nearly so.

Anyway, depending, you may find there’s power outlets and a fan to help get that air shifting a bit; on the other hand, I heard one of my fellows mentioning their air con (the big spenders! Hahaha). That said, the best feature genuinely has to be a verandah. Sipping that morning coffee when one is surrounded by jungle noises is, you see, memorable. That being said, expect the occasional jungle critter; one did have a gander, so; you know, lizards, insects… Nothing’s that unusual, arguably. Anyway, you’re at its house!

What’s on the Menu? Food and Dining

Thai Meals

The food here’s generally something a local might enjoy or some street vendor makes every day – one does find genuinely authentic Thai stuff. One is hoping for spices. You know, that fragrant kind of curry plus all those stir-fries, they are really what the experience is.

In general, it is what you would call buffet-style or family-style kind of dining. What that essentially means is one big spread, everyone dips in. Expect, for instance, rice dishes, curries, probably also some vegetable bits to balance the books. It does generally work for vegetarians; conversely, options can be limited in that case, actually, if a guest wants a full-on specialist diet, so best is just tell ’em early. Just one pointer?

The treehouse providers almost certainly attempt getting you to experience what anyone would call regional goodness; anyway, don’t imagine that sort of silver service kinda restaurant quality experience. You can get decent, tasty grub prepared with heart, it’s very important.

Jungle Activities and Exploration

Jungle hiking

So, you came here to gaze at the trees, or were you gonna do a spot of Indiana Jones? Fair enough, my thoughts precisely! Basically, there are commonly choices to do walks right into the jungle. You may or may not require what anyone may call a guide that shares interesting facts about nature surrounding one. Anyway, in my case, it was less Tomb Raider plus more moderate walk. Expect it will become pretty humid.

Very popular has to be a visit to Cheow Lan Lake. Picture, very shiny green waters surrounded by massive limestone rocks, like something right out of a postcard; basically, that lake’s actually made by men! Loads of journeys happen. Some might do kayaking, too it’s really quiet; some just wanna jump inside for some swimming. A couple prefer relaxing. Anyway, you are thinking photos? Be certain the smartphone has lots of juice.

Creature Comforts (and Potential Drawbacks)

Creature Comforts

OK, therefore what must someone remember? Here are several very quick thoughts.

  • Bugs are likely going to try and say good day – some spray seriously helps keep these pests far away
  • Thailand’s sunlight is truly powerful. Do the whole sunscreen situation.
  • What kind of person does not enjoy listening to nature tunes; anyway, bring earplugs – bugs, frogs or just, you know, wildlife.
  • Want what anyone might term a reliable Wifi connection; anyway, be geared up to go without (unless someone is in the air-con luxury cabin deal). That stated, disconnect!

Another idea. Expect rural vibes plus that thing that often comes together with it – actually power hiccups are plausible, so just bring that kind of rechargeable gizmo, that’s sensible in the modern-era, you know? Finally, think security. Keep things safe; you won’t see anyone about to nick anything; anyway, being cautious feels reassuring.

Wrapping Up: Is That Trip For You?

Happy Tourist

Is that what someone has had at the back of one’s mind during it all, very? You seek things real, with nature? Well, someone looking into Khao Sok’s treehouses really has to rate the setting plus general adventure. Someone in it only for sheer indulgence, be prepped, basically to rough it slightly. Basically, keep a sense what that is when scheduling – if you require comfort and luxury get what the brochure shows when they exchange those pounds for what is basically a room. I came away, anyway, so it felt happy, revived plus plus something for that social media – yes, you get those photographs!

  • Jungle Sounds: Fall asleep to actual nature; it is something the phone cannot imitate.
  • Thai Flavors: Dine properly at local dishes. That buffet will surprise.
  • Lake Life: One should kayak at Cheow Lan Lake if at all viable.
  • Keep Watch: Pests happen! Come completely prepped.
  • Reality Check: Understand; it is a rustic experience. Anyway, expect it if this stuff does happen
