Paris Eiffel Tower Madame Brasserie Lunch Review: Is It Worth It?

Picture this, you, enjoying a lovely meal, with a breathtaking view of Paris sprawling beneath you. That is pretty much what’s on offer with a 3 course lunch at Madame Brasserie, way up inside the Eiffel Tower. But is this dining experience really worth the money and, too, the hype? Well, let’s have a close look, shall we?

Booking and Getting There: A Smooth Start

Eiffel Tower Entrance

So, first things first, booking is really pretty crucial, possibly weeks, even months in advance, especially if you want a prime time slot. I got my reservation sorted via the Madame Brasserie website, and the whole process, I have to say, was really pretty simple and straightforward. After you receive a confirmation email that contains all the information that you are likely to need for your visit, make a note of that!

Getting to the Eiffel Tower is fairly simple, and there are several metro stops within walking distance. Once you arrive, you’ll see a separate line that’s specifically for restaurant guests, and in a way that can save you some serious time compared to folks waiting to visit the tower. The security check can be, well, extensive, like airport security, that you should factor that in to your arrival time. Give yourself at least 30 to 45 minutes before your reservation to actually clear security and make your way to the restaurant.

Ambiance and the View: Setting the Scene

Madame Brasserie View

Madame Brasserie is located on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. When you step inside, you are met with an ambiance that’s modern, still manages to feel pretty welcoming, and unpretentious too it’s almost. The décor is chic and understated, with large windows designed, arguably, to maximize those truly stunning views. You might notice that the restaurant rotates, which is extremely subtle, of course, but you’ll get a 360 degree perspective while you enjoy your meal, and that’s something to think about.

Depending on where you’re seated, you will see sights that stretch across Paris, from Montmartre to the Seine River, or perhaps to the Louvre. It’s seriously something that elevates the dining experience and it is memorable, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just soaking in the Parisian atmosphere. That, really, is Paris, you know?

The 3-Course Lunch: A Culinary Overview

Madame Brasserie Food

The 3 course lunch usually features a set menu, which changes seasonally, arguably, so that it shows the use of fresh ingredients. My lunch had the sort of classic French dishes you might hope for, with some twists that reflect a more modern approach to the dishes.

For starters, there could be, like, a delicate salad with some seasonal vegetables and a light vinaigrette. Then there’s the main course that usually offers a choice between fish, or meat, maybe even a vegetarian option. The fish, prepared with herbs and lemon, was flavorful, and cooked perfectly, to be honest. The accompanying vegetables were cooked nicely and enhanced the overall dish rather. And then, finally, dessert!

Of course the dessert should be something truly decadent. A chocolate mousse or a fruit tart, which, seemingly, is perfect for a sweet ending to the meal. Now, while the food might not be the most inventive you’ll ever taste, it’s certainly of high quality, and very well prepared. The portions are adequate, still they do leave you feeling nicely satisfied without being overstuffed.

Service and Atmosphere: What to Expect

Madame Brasserie Service

The service in Madame Brasserie, in my view, is what you would kind of expect from a restaurant in this price range. The staff are generally really pretty attentive, very polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. There are some that are really happy to answer any questions that you might have, still they will also offer recommendations. The atmosphere is very lively but, in a way, also relaxed, so that you are good for both romantic dates and family gatherings too.

It’s probably worth noting that, because the restaurant rotates and that there are also lots of people, and it can get pretty noisy, that may not appeal to everybody. But the views and the food, more or less, create a special experience.

Value for Money: Is It Worth the Splurge?

Let’s tackle the big question, shall we. Does having lunch at Madame Brasserie justify the cost? Arguably, the pricing is in the higher range, but you’re obviously paying for the location and the overall experience. If you consider that it is more than just a meal. It is also about the view, about the ambiance, about dining in a famous landmark, then, I guess, you could make an argument that it is actually good value for money. For a very special occasion, it’s a must, to be honest.

The set menu offers decent value compared to, say, ordering à la carte. Plus, the lunch menu, often, is more affordable than dinner, which can make it an appealing option, if that’s what you want. But, should you be looking for a low-cost dining option, this probably is not it.

Final Thoughts: A Memorable Parisian Experience

All in all, the 3 course lunch at Madame Brasserie in the Eiffel Tower is one pretty great experience. The combination of really pretty great food, the exceptional views, and quality service really makes it a worthwhile treat. Is it very touristy? Yes, probably. But it’s also a truly unique and special way, possibly, to appreciate Paris, you know? Whether you’re a visitor to Paris or a local who wants to see your city in a whole new way, Madame Brasserie offers something truly memorable.
