Armenia Landscape

So, thinking about seeing Armenia and grabbing some seriously amazing photos? Well, Armenia, it’s a really stunning country and totally full of historical spots and crazy-beautiful views. Now, if you’re starting in Yerevan, the capital city, you’re actually in a good spot to check out some of Armenia’s best stuff on these Instagram tours. You, I think, should know that this review? It will cover six absolutely tour options, pointing out things like, the really awesome bits, things to watch out for, and basically what makes each one worth your time. This way, hopefully you get some extra help figuring out where exactly to point your camera!

1. Garni Temple & Geghard Monastery Tour

Garni Temple Armenia

Okay, the Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery tour? It might just be the top hit from Yerevan. Basically, Garni is that only Greco-Roman style structure still standing in Armenia, and seeing it? It really does feel like you’ve sort of stepped back centuries. The columns, that sunlight – total photo gold. Is that the cool thing? Well, there’s always these street musicians who tend to hang around, basically adding to the mood. Just maybe give them a few Armenian dram if you grab a shot. Then, not too far away is Geghard Monastery, seemingly cut right into a cliff. Geghard? Oh, its history runs deep, and inside? Yeah, the acoustics are something else; if you’re lucky, actually, you might just catch a choir singing. It might get a bit crowded there, really. I’m just saying.

Pro Tip: Go a bit earlier or later in the day, almost, to hopefully dodge those big tour bus crowds. Early light hitting the stones is killer, too it’s almost a painterly dream. If you ask your tour company nicely, too, sometimes you could also arrange a little lunch with a local family nearby. I tell you, it adds a little something to the whole day!

2. Lake Sevan & Sevanavank Monastery Tour

Lake Sevan Armenia

Alright, picture this: you looking at a huge lake which is really up high in the mountains, it seems so cool, and right on its edge are some really quite ancient monasteries. This is, after all, Lake Sevan and the Sevanavank Monastery. Sevan is super awesome because of these blue waters; it appears so clean it’s nearly otherworldly and against the sky? Perfect for really breathtaking shots. Basically, Sevanavank itself is that old monastery right at the top of a peninsula, it’s really kind of interesting, and the views from up there are absolutely worth the climb. Make certain to actually check out both churches, St. Arakelots and St. Astvatsatsin. Also, is that something you’re into, you can get fish fresh out of the lake at these places nearby.

Local tip, you can, that is, if it is the summertime, sometimes you may even rent boats or windsurf, to kind of kick up the adventure meter a tad. That also adds some good, fun photos from slightly far out on the lake itself, very fun! One possible thing to keep an eye on, it may also get breezy because it’s up so high. Possibly think of packing a light jacket, that kind of thing!

3. Tatev Monastery & Wings of Tatev Cable Car Tour

Tatev Monastery Armenia

Alright, the Tatev Monastery, it’s really something different, because to kind of get there, anyway, is this spectacular ride on that ‘Wings of Tatev’ cable car; apparently, one of the longest in the world, in some ways. Soaring way above the Vorotan Gorge gives you truly crazy angles, that are sort of awesome, of the scenery. Once at Tatev? Well, that monastery, very frankly, has got crazy history. Think like, really old universities, secret passages, stuff like that, which are, so, so worth figuring out more. Then, also, you might go to see the ‘Gavazan’, seemingly, a really quite unique swaying column which may look like it’s about to drop, anyway, but never actually does.

Is that the really great thing here, anyway? You can try to spare plenty of time. Seriously, like exploring everything can easily drink up an afternoon. Is that you want really memorable stuff, well you, in a way, could look into a guided tour, too. These tours? Well, they can uncover these layers of Tatev that you may likely miss just wandering about. Also, a bit, don’t forget, really, comfortable shoes; all this, I think, is very handy!

4. Khor Virap Monastery & Areni Wine Region Tour

Khor Virap Monastery Armenia

The Khor Virap Monastery has got, probably, one of the famous viewpoints in Armenia—you, anyway, see that massive Mount Ararat right there in the distance. This location, it’s kinda significant, historically speaking; St. Gregory, allegedly the Illuminator, allegedly, really, got kept imprisoned here for about 13 years. Is that it interests you, go below ground and explore the pit where allegedly he was held, basically. Really. The feels though, might make a couple more people think. Basically. Then, it’s likely you’ll be moving to the Areni, is that the plan anyway, wine region. If, really, that suits you. You can actually taste local wines in some of the family-run vineyards, that is the intention, too, and the backdrop, so very? Photo magic.

Oh and make time. You know, if you’re able to, check to find if there’s that Areni Wine Festival coming up. It’s really usually early October, so I do think. Now that event? Well, it goes pretty big there, that is a serious big crowd. Alternatively, is that you just wish, is that your wish is a quiet moment, is that possible, go for the vineyards further afield from all the famous spots. I do also, in fact, advise arranging transport ahead; you likely want this, possibly, especially if wine tastings occur. Also maybe a taxi might do; it does also work there, apparently.

5. Dilijan National Park & Haghartsin Monastery Tour

Dilijan National Park Armenia

Ah Dilijan, you know, basically this bit, it’s so they say Switzerland of Armenia. Anyway, with forests which seem dense and the freshest air that will make you forget it. This park is great if hiking and exploring. I suggest going, seemingly anyway, to Haghartsin Monastery there. Is that really a great place, in your view anyway, it’s actually completely in amongst the trees. In reality. You can take all sorts of these peaceful walks. Apparently the complex dates back to the 10th century in truth. It has, so the story goes, these stories linked to when supposedly eagles played a role at the construction area. And then if you like architecture, seemingly, then you likely might value some time in Goshavank, another monastery actually nearby. Basically anyway.

Think. Walking shoes. They appear handy. Just take these walks within Dilijan. It would be, almost, also useful taking these picnic lunches. That’s fun; in all respects. Also in reality this landscape is ideal to enjoy that peaceful lunch. Or, to eat! That makes a difference doesn’t it.

6. Echmiadzin Cathedral & Zvartnots Temple Tour

Echmiadzin Cathedral Armenia

This trip here anyway gives a close look to, if only a small view, of the spiritual part of Armenia with that visit to Echmiadzin. I suggest that you explore, potentially to your view, Echmiadzin Cathedral in fact which is this mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Really. In that location supposedly many important religious stuff exists there as many believe! Apparently. Not forgetting the Holy Lance to visit. You can also go check out this ruined Zvartnots Temple in this nearby area, a good site to get history and picture places in all reality. And its architecture can take its fill to all the photos, clearly it can!

Actually if wanting, find details relating to all feast days and ceremonies which do sometimes take place at Etchmiadzin in detail. Basically. That would do actually. This might change your whole thing quite basically so! Maybe wear, you would agree in essence that you do, in this case as well, need basically to cover, perhaps or really in total respect maybe!

Anyway when weighing up each tour is that each offers many experiences. Really though; is that to do it anyway, you just only value this, so you might, of what your eyes behold maybe you also need to learn. Of places’ importance. Very likely! Or to take better picture results of yourself or anyone as might matter, so well might those details, likely do, give an increase too.

You can enjoy seeing the wonders in all corners as there might be the option here for a picture tour; but with some plan on those tours as this guarantees it actually, maybe.
