Review: New Orleans 2-Hour Paranormal Investigation Tour

New Orleans, that city known for its music, amazing food, and that overall unique vibe, is that place very steeped in history and whispers, isn’t it? Because of this it draws people from all around, and its ghostly reputation, so very prominent, draws in lots of those with a fascination for what some call the other side. A tour I recently took, that 2-Hour Paranormal Investigation, well, that just seemed like the ideal thing to do while visiting. Now, my experience, that was very interesting, so too it had elements that may very well make or break it, at least depending on just the type of visitor you happen to be.

What to Expect: A Walk Through the Shadows

Ghost tour equipment

This tour, it starts when night starts to fall, and with that you find yourself on what can only be called a walk into those areas of New Orleans where that boundary between realities, is that a bit thinner, wouldn’t you say? What makes this whole thing a little different, arguably, is that you’re not only going to get those spooky stories—oh no, that’s just the beginning. Actually, this “investigation” side of things? Well, it’s quite involved, is that because it provides some real tools. Because of this tour guests are given equipment, isn’t it? It’s intended to sense the supposedly hidden energies, that equipment, arguably giving you that chance, well, to maybe contact a spirit or two. That plan alone, really, already pulls you in doesn’t it?

Our guide, very knowledgeable, I think, began when they told stories. I mean these stories, you know, that make you pause and think, weren’t they? Those tales very carefully told, that guide started creating that very spooky backdrop, but very essential for this particular journey we were all on. Armed with an EMF meter (for picking up on any possible electromagnetic fields) as well as dowsing rods (well, to pinpoint the energy, or any disturbances around), it all sort of felt as if we could very well be on our very own real-life ghost adventure! Those locations they chose, they added that intense feeling. The LaLaurie Mansion (yes, that one, the one from American Horror Story, maybe?) That and a few of those darkened alleyways of the French Quarter? Well, so they all kind of crank up that eeriness factor quite a bit, you know?

The Tools of the Trade: Do They Really Work?

EMF Meter ghost hunting

Using such gadgets for our own ghost hunt? So very intriguing! Though, just how those things work…or don’t, I guess that’s something up for debate, too isn’t it? So those EMF meters? Oh, these can detect electromagnetic fields, sure. That said, so very high readings? Are those from a ghost or is it a nearby power line? Hmm. Then there are the dowsing rods; those two metal rods meant, well, to cross whenever they pick up something odd. I was sort of skeptical if those tools would lead to anything tangible, honestly, but those tools definitely give people something they can focus on. More importantly they give them a very active part they can take when things get going. The experience just seems more involved, more real, that, than if you were only being lectured to as you moved.

There was this one point during our trip when that EMF meter I held began acting pretty erratically, right outside of a building thought to have, like, a few unhappy spirits stuck within. That guide, quite calm about this, asked us each what we thought was going on. This meter going crazy like this, right? Well, the thing really brought on this excitement. Was that paranormal, so real? Or just a broken device, maybe? Honestly, at least to me that answer wasn’t the whole point. With those instruments in-hand and all of us looking intently as things developed, that event created a connection to one another and made what we were doing seem much more alive and significant, anyway. Even if nothing actually made the hair on our necks rise.

History Meets Mystery: The Stories They Tell

Haunted History of New Orleans

One of the great bits that the tour has is when it shares its New Orleans history along with its ghostly side. That guide took the time, that, to weave interesting narratives regarding New Orleans’ darker times—stories on past tragedies, that local folklore, as well as famous murders. By mixing, really, so historical stuff plus ghost tales? Well, it sure makes this all just that much more immersive. With the story concerning Madame LaLaurie and, you know, those terrible deeds they say happened at her mansion, there’s so much to take in. Just visualizing such pain right behind such grand walls… it sort of messes with your head, that’s for sure!

As we went around this famous French Quarter, the guide didn’t hold back discussing pirates. And with it also talking a lot regarding that suffering due to yellow fever and a great many of those other unsettling details the area experienced a long while back. With these events filling our minds, New Orleans, really, it just transforms; a party spot turns into something layered by untold stories and painful occurrences. At times, I felt as if I was really in touch with these stories of old, with my imagination working a lot, adding richness, really, to everything I took in as we walked.

Is it Actually Scary? That Depends.

Skeptical face

Alright, here’s that big question, very clearly. So this tour, would you find it terrifying? And, to be fair, this really just rests on, basically, two different aspects: your beliefs and, in some respects, that power of suggestion, wouldn’t you say? If you think of yourself as not very open to anything supernatural or you tend to really like those proven facts a little bit too much, maybe this trip, really, so wouldn’t terrify you all that much. You may instead think of it, really, like an extremely cool walking tour— history blended with the local color. On the flip side, someone really eager, you know, for that spooky feeling, then maybe your guide’s storytelling paired together with those gadgets may really get your heart speeding up, huh?

During all this, while I didn’t see spirits as such, what actually thrilled me most regarding this was something way more subtle. Namely? Those locations seemed so creepy; also with that I really started sensing those heavy feelings that such spots gave off. The combination, you see, of storytelling and, arguably, an already creepy vibe worked well with one another; together it managed turning a skeptic such as I a bit less so… or at least much more able just to entertain how maybe something lay beyond my plain seeing.

Things to Consider Before Booking

Consider this

Got you considering signing up? I do, so advise some key points here: That timing piece means everything! New Orleans, the night time atmosphere it gives, can be somewhat extreme depending whenever you choose, won’t it? Decide after that if visiting on that warm summer evening is the goal— maybe that weather and, really, all such folks wandering those French Quarter streets detract from that isolation element that really helps give that authentic supernatural tour. Visiting then later into that off-season, that can just ratchet things higher, very definitely— not lots of people out also cooler temps give more seriousness concerning these hauntings, I think.

Do also keep in mind such walking things: that New Orleans infrastructure sometimes makes doing those strolls somewhat tricky. Have yourself prepared if you will do a lot while up on sidewalks that seem very uneven or in any alley having that poor light and what looks like old brick surfaces—that does sound easy on paper, though could prove somewhat painful on that footwear choice or if getting around sometimes provides much challenges. One last suggestion: ask others attending exactly what they have with them that can, maybe, mess things with devices. Maybe some person brought some type technology gizmo which ends up messing with those meters’ measurements?! That’s less eerie so more only pesky, and one will really benefit by preventing which thing tends on happening when out.

Final Thoughts: Worth the Scare?

Is it worth it

This two-hour Paranormal Exploration tour, that, makes just what should provide lots fun way adding one’s New Orleans’ visit, I claim, though those enjoyment quotients really are so contingent about, sure, those mindset going into that so how curious and amenable you have regarding stuff that is “not seen”. This has that neat blend doing ghostly things along one’s history walk then may intrigue then excite certain individuals in different proportions when that ghost-inclined vibe tends showing right through. When seeking something that might give genuine goosebumps when traipsing by what happens can one could very take something unique along that Crescent city which usually celebrates—a side some barely meet.

This is that condensed idea exactly that exploration means when summing this one altogether:

  • It brings you to key spots from ghostly chronicles by adding a bit regarding that city from days which pass.
  • Having devices at hands gives individuals very productive way doing with happenings at specific points though does vary based upon such trust doing paranormal action
  • Exactly that experience goes means what anyone anticipates through really what someone then hopes or feels from events; genuine thrills might elude certain but making any experience a rather awesome thing.
  • Planning using tour schedules besides preparing what this brings (shoes which happen doing those walks etc) this enables any maximum gains once things progress

Such haunt-type experience may prove memorable when giving yourself that New Orlean vacation as well offering memories over all too usually one pictures concerning! Those tour experiences might, one, definitely bring some different layer or two concerning fun adventures in town at some points soon I suggest offering it attempt, or rather do it knowing everything that might lie, I suggest trying to keep everything honest including ones expectations for a really rich outing done while visiting Louisiana for something completely refreshing!
