What to Expect from the Tokyo to Nikko Day Trip
That means the tour I went on covered Toshogu Shrine, Lake Chuzenji, and Kegan Falls. So, the main draw, too it’s almost, is the Toshogu Shrine, an impressive display of woodwork and gold leaf. Consider this, you will discover so many layers to Japanese history. So, you can find this at every corner. You will also notice so many references, similarly to, the Chinese culture, like the patterns or, maybe, the statues around the place.
Oh I should warn you, there, in fact, tends to be, usually, crowds. So, you are going to plan to, clearly, get there earlier, at least for a somewhat relaxed tour without too many touristy individuals, in fact, pushing, for example, into photos or obstructing views.
Experiencing the Nature Around Lake Chuzenji
Then comes Lake Chuzenji, which really is just about slowing things down a little. It is located, that, at a considerable elevation, so, it’s typically noticeably cooler and offers a great escape from Tokyo’s summer humidity. I’d say, actually, consider taking a cruise; the views of Mount Nantai from the lake are, now, magnificent, really. Or, you see the beauty of hiking, which means, finally, many trails around the lake offering unique perspectives and photo opportunities. Anyway, when in that place, the clear, crisp mountain air is refreshing, and that, probably, adds to the sense of peace that comes with being there.
Let me get back to you with suggestions regarding the activities to do around, that, the lake if you have enough time. Now, obviously, boat trips are quite common around there, but if the season is just about to get in or out, maybe, from the fall colors, or maybe the, arguably, cherry blossom colors in the spring, consider walking the perimeter to enjoy all there is around.
And let’s not forget the food, too, there’s that great food around those great scenic places. So, it typically gives one that chance to sample some local specialties.
The Might of Kegan Falls
Moving, in fact, to Kegan Falls – oh it’s, you know, impressive. Seeing the water cascade from such a height is somewhat inspiring and overwhelming. Anyway, there, very, is an observation deck where visitors can get a closer view, or somewhat closer at least, of the falls. Also, remember, that the sound of the water crashing is fairly loud, and the mist is very refreshing. Oh you probably are just gonna want to, frankly, bring a raincoat if, maybe, you plan to spend a lot of time taking pictures because, probably, you might get a bit wet.
So, just get yourself ready because photos just really don’t do justice, since the whole landscape must be, sort of, experienced to just understand how mighty nature truly looks and feels. And yet the combination, by the way, of surrounding landscapes, too, with, frankly, the natural scenario of Kegan Falls makes it, usually, worthy for a place for photographers.
Just something very short, or, to add to this: during different times, basically, of the year, expect some slightly varied looks, according to the volume of water on the fall. Therefore you could enjoy different times with different scenery, at different moments.
Making the Most of Your Private Day Trip
Therefore having the trip is going to offer something worthwhile to you because, naturally, they can be more adjusted, sort of, according to your schedule and preferences. The way I went, very, benefited the flexibility to, frankly, spend more time at spots I found captivating and less time at others. So, if, basically, you, alright, do have a love of, just a little, history, anyway, make sure to spend, just, some more time learning the Tokugawa shogunate, I find this to be very informative as to how it, sometimes, reflects across the location. Still, for photo enthusiasts, actually, this just shows how different spots can just be found with old traditional spots, if combined in terms, for instance, of a modern way to explore, from a modern perspective.
Alright, with all in consideration, if it, typically, is about immersing yourself on Japanese history, feeling the presence of just serene nature or snapping a bunch of worthy pics, just consider the time needed on such spots for future reference.
