BMW ‘Escape the Cruise’ Review: Is It Worth It?
Have you, like, heard of the BMW ‘Escape the Cruise’ deal and wondered if it’s any good? That is, a driving program designed, in a way, to give you the independence you usually miss on a ship. We, like, tried it out, so here’s what’s what.
What Even Is “Escape the Cruise?”
So, “Escape the Cruise” is very, actually, much what it sounds like, isn’t it? Think about those huge cruises where you go from one place to another but just catch little snippets of them. BMW decided there needed to be something more, almost like a little, shall we say, antidote to those tightly scheduled trips. The plan is you get off the ship and into a fancy BMW and actually explore inland, at least that is, on paper. It’s not, I think, for people who want a relaxing time by the pool; it’s, you know, very much for people who enjoy seeing places in style and, really, having the freedom to discover things on their own terms. That is, seeing what is there, isn’t it?
The Promise of Open Roads
The basic idea is this: you’re, arguably, given the keys to a shining, almost brand new BMW, plus, you see, a well mapped out route taking you, possibly, through some seriously great scenery, you know? We were really quite stoked to hear all of this; the promise of those open roads and, really, the sense of discovery. Now, many tours are guided, very unlike this one. This allows you, too, to drive off the beaten path. Stop wherever you feel the urge, right? And explore the hidden bits, and actually get under the skin of these destinations.
The Actual Experience, and What We Found
So, the brochure promises twisty coastal roads and stunning views? Yeah, right, that’s right! We set off thinking we’d have just that. And we very much did! Getting behind the wheel was smooth and great, but you, kind of, need to remember a couple of points. First, those pretty back roads might, maybe, get very narrow, and really quite challenging if you’re used to bigger streets. Furthermore, BMW GPS is fine, too it’s just sometimes you lose signal. What does it mean? It means that before going out it makes very much sense, like your instructor actually told you, too, that you should probably grab, too, regular paper maps. Furthermore, embrace spontaneity! Did a little local café catch your eye? Go and pop in, honestly!
Are The Hotels Good?
So, here is where the experience went from fantastic to simply great. See, those hotels featured are gorgeous and special. That being the point, each, actually, delivers a unique take that matches what they offer. One night may have been in a coastal resort and then you see the next might take place at a tucked away historic manor house, honestly, but what they certainly do provide, literally, is some serious rest. Furthermore, one, might I add, very great dinner!
BMW Selection
Basically, selecting a good vehicle, is the most important decision you’ll take. Furthermore, based on how well you know that little country lane. Too, it really changes what it may do! For you to enjoy what is there it pays for, you too, actually get in a vehicle which is a blast to maneuver, really.
Value For Money?
So, at last, the question many ask. Too, this really isn’t for thrifty backpackers, no? You get quality driving on your own schedule, luxury lodging and genuinely, great food that will allow people to disconnect, which, for a cost. But is it good quality? If some flexibility appeals this, in a way, seems good.
