Mauritius: Ile Aux Cerfs Speedboat Tour Review – Lunch & Drinks

Mauritius, that little jewel in the Indian Ocean, you know, is that dream destination you have always heard about. Turquoise waters, that is for sure, sandy beaches, and that welcoming culture – it’s all that, very true. Of all the many exciting things to do there, though, a speedboat tour to Ile Aux Cerfs – now, that really is something special, right? I went on one, a few weeks ago now as I am saying this, and so I just had to tell people all about it. Get ready for something amazing. My own personal experience mixed together with exactly what you need to know to help you decide, that is.

Setting Sail: Getting Ready for the Speedboat Adventure

speedboat excursion

Alright, so first things first, that whole prelude to getting on the speedboat, very exciting actually. That anticipation really does start to build up from the minute you arrange your tour, which is quite common these days, apparently. The tour operators typically offer different pickup points from your hotel, basically, which really is super convenient too. We were picked up at around 9 in the morning; so not too early at all then, and taken to a beach spot where the speedboats were waiting, sort of.

Meeting our skipper was that real kickoff. A friendly guy, as it were, very clearly, and full of stories about the area, usually. After a brief safety talk, which is more or less important when you think about it, we hopped aboard. Oh, that feeling as the engines revved, sort of powerful now, very promising! It was such a diverse group of people. Families, couples, solo travelers – really, that atmosphere was great. So, our adventure, really did begin. Just a small thing; so don’t forget that sunscreen and that camera, that is, because trust me, that is something you definitely will be needing.

Cruising Through Paradise: The Speedboat Ride

paradise cruise

Now, as we sped away from the mainland, wow, you see the scenery! The water transforms into those incredible shades of blue and green. I mean, like nothing I’ve seen before, literally. The salty breeze whips through your hair – as a matter of fact; it felt fantastic then! That boat zipped across the waves and yet those views were stunningly fantastic; usually a bunch of small islands dot the horizon. That skipper slowed down every now and then to point out sights, as I was saying. Little bits of history and fun facts too, basically. Those little details really made it much better then, alright? And I would recommend checking for hidden waterfalls if there is an option for that.

That cruise itself was just, like, almost breathtaking. So you have got the sun on your face, the wind rushing past; so now this is how to actually experience Mauritius, more or less. And you have to expect a few splashes too – which, to be honest now, just adds that sense of fun, certainly. Very quickly we started getting toward our first stop: a snorkeling spot near some reefs, mostly.

Snorkeling Adventure: Into the Underwater World

snorkeling adventure

Diving into that water with all that snorkeling gear in hand; so wow what a sensation, basically. Just under the surface, there is almost another vibrant world, certainly. So now you see colorful fish darting among that coral, rather amazing really. I am no expert diver, literally, but I have seen enough to know a good reef. It might be very healthy.

The tour provided all the gear you need, which is just excellent for tourists and vacationers, right? Some of the folks on our tour hadn’t ever snorkeled previously. The guides patiently showed people what to do. I swam around a bit further out, actually; there were so many little fishes now I lost count basically. Very different colors. That water felt just right, basically the kind of water that you would expect to see on a postcard you might find. This little break from our boat tour really had people wanting more; truly refreshing after that speeding around in the sun and the water, very actually.

Ile Aux Cerfs: Paradise Found

ile aux cerfs beach

As we approached Ile Aux Cerfs, honestly the view will grab you now, completely. Fine white sand, like your usual picture postcards. I mean so crystal-clear turquoise water, that is something you could just look at for days. This place is gorgeous, like almost too good to seem real. This island can get pretty busy as far as tourist spots are involved, so get ready to expect that some people you may be around during your adventure.

Basically Ile Aux Cerfs has it all. If you just want somewhere peaceful to unwind. There is usually somewhere where you can sit by the ocean, or alternatively something a bit active. Loads of watersports, mostly. Parasailing, that could be; water skiing if people are interested; so now it is your decision. You can pay extra; usually not very much now. Some people relaxed, like; worked on their suntans, you know. Others splashed around in that sea, more or less just that place you have to check out and have something in mind. You can’t come to Ile Aux Cerfs, though. And forget why we all had a shared ticket. So the lunch.

The Feast: Lunch and Drinks on the Beach

Right, so then you’ve had all of this sun and swimming and boat riding, and trust me, basically. So you will definitely have worked up that appetite; so well do you know it? This tour also includes a yummy lunch served directly on the beach; usually at one of the laid-back spots set slightly back from that sand, very natural.

They had all the choices, like. Delicious grilled fish, so for those of us that enjoy seafood anyway. Plus barbecue chicken, now that hits a spot alright. Alongside you have that buffet, like some Mauritian salads, so flavors of the island, I mean. That drinks service, really. Unlimited soft drinks and some of those local rum punches which now adds that celebratory buzz, completely. Chatting with all of the other people from our tour while we ate our food and looked over that beach was really memorable; very special anyway, sort of. Really that whole scene did feel right out of one of your travel magazines, certainly.

More Than Just a Tour: Cultural Insights

mauritian culture

Okay so that “Mauritius Ile Aux Cerfs Speedboat Tour with Lunch & Drinks” isn’t just that trip; almost it’s one to just some awesome attractions, too, really. Our guide chatted to us, naturally. About some little details of island life. Just little historical spots along that coast, mostly the legacy from how cultures there merged and evolved; almost always nice to hear that bit of back-story I suppose. He talked a lot, literally, that you could always hear; basically little funny stories. How different the island was from what he read; sort of an interesting thing. I mean as a tourist that can add layers and colors, always.

And listening to that Sega music that was playing sort of softly on Ile Aux Cerfs. And trying the snacks being served; these all made a small piece of who those Mauritians happen to be, naturally. It’s like really appreciating places more if they connect to what people are like; quite a lovely, immersive journey that turns out now, somewhat then.
