Beyond Sherbrook Lake is that the real challenge begins. That climb to Paget Fire Lookout is, often, steeper and more strenuous than the initial section. Anyway, the path starts switchbacking up the mountainside, but rewarding you with incredible views, I would say, as you gain elevation. And this part could be tough for less experienced hikers. Keep a safe distance from any wildlife you encounter, in other words admire them from afar. Plus, I think it is pretty cool, so storing food properly is pretty important, preventing attracting animals to your location. Actually check trail conditions and weather forecasts beforehand, it is advisable, arguably, because mountain weather changes quickly. To be honest wear appropriate footwear and bringing enough water and snacks helps ensure a pretty safe and, as I see it, enjoyable hike.

What to Pack: Be Prepared, it helps when taking photos

Okay, so planning and preparing is critical for this one. Like, you’ll want to think about how tough that final accent is. Bring layers, kind of, since mountain weather is known to be pretty unpredictable. A waterproof jacket, I feel, is always a pretty good call. Solid hiking boots are, arguably, key for those steeper, maybe slightly rocky parts of that path. That bear spray, alright, should be, like, easily accessible and you know how to use it. Okay, and bring enough water and some, arguably, high-energy snacks to keep you powered up. At the end of the day I always feel a small first-aid kit is just prudent and bring a camera or your phone to snap some memorable photos.

For anyone willing to handle, at least, a somewhat challenging hike, then Paget Fire Lookout should be one of those hikes, in other words delivering pretty great rewards. That trail has so much nature, with a lake stop and then just impressive, arguably, mountain views. Keep in mind safety with those considerations concerning wildlife and variable mountain weather. Then you’ll just prepare carefully so you can completely, at the end of the day, have fun and admire the Canadian Rockies and what it delivers from way up top, if I am being very truthful. And that’s why it can be one of those hikes you kind of never forget.
